Great idea I'm always spending a long time to get all spots off my Dark Bowling Green with no waterpots oops, wtrspts, damn water spots. Sounds especially excellent for the wheels and little nooks and crannies. I live on the edge of BFE so no neighbors within 2 miles.

I use this one on wheels, under hood, etc. Works great, plus has soft rubber nozzle. Bought at Camping World, have seen them at Farm/Ranch and hardware stores $20 - $3o. ---- Caution!!! Use only a good working GFI protected circuit, to power any electric appliance, outdoors, in the driveway or on lawn. These are among the best home safety devises ever invented! Life savers!

Master Blaster is the way to go. Can get up close and personal with the cone shaped nozzle and blast the water out of the small crevices, and from behind the moldings so it doesn't drip out later.

Just wear some ear protection. The machine itself isn't that loud, but the wind sound hitting the car will make your ears ring.

I use an electric variable speed leaf blower (Toro 51559) and placed a short piece of rubber radiator hose on the end to avoid possible blemishes from getting too close. Works great but the heat in AZ can evaporate the water too much. Shade is a good friend to have! Most outdoor plugs should have GFI on them if up to code. Water typically isn't standing on the concrete but just have moistened driveways

I'm so F...ing glad I found this thread yesterday I had to wash 2 cars today my DBG 2k coupe and Lincoln MKX. Used this drying method on both wow what a great idea. If I could buy everyone a beer I would. I use a good ol' Toro electric, a bit on the heavy side but blows like a mother, so works great. BUMPS to all you geniuses that turned all the rest of us on to this idea. BTW I happened to notice that someone else has a Master Blaster for sale on CF. Had i not seen this thread before I saw his ad I would be wondering wtf he is thinking selling a leaf blower on CF. LOL!!!!s Blow on all!!!

I just replaced my 2-cycle gas blower this weekend with this EGO 56V cordless electrical blower. A few manufacturers now offer cordless blowers. I ordered the quick-charger unit and a 5 amp-h battery to increase run time. This thing rocks - it has the standard speed using the trigger switch and a "turbo" button that doubles the air speed and is surprisingly light. I could easily use this to blow water off the car but I already have the kick-azz Master Blaster. And, yes, it was an expensive setup but it has a 5 year warranty but I am so happy to be moving away from a gas-powered blower.

I have this company's weed whacked and it's great. I sure wouldn't mind a cordless alternative to. My plug-in or back pack.

I've been using a leaf blower for 20 years. I brought the idea here 15 years ago...
I have since looked at the master blaster, gas powered and battery. Gas and battery powered are too heavy ( for me to maneuver over my head, to reach the roof of my wife's SUV.

For this application ( blowing off cars, ) I found that for me, weight was the biggest factor.
I use a light weight ( under five lbs ) 4.9 lbs wired 2 speed 150 mph blower. Because of the weight, its very maneuverable, being able to hold high enough to blow off the roof of my wife's SUV. You can find these Homelite blowers on Ebay for 25 to 35 dollars. The one I have has lasted for more than 10 years. It sits right inside my garage door, so I can grab it in a second to blow leaves off my drive way or blow off the cars. Works great inside the car as well.
Also works well under the hood, and in the hatch area.

I do have two gas powered 2 stroke leaf blowers, a back pack, and a hand held... neither work well to do the cars. They do however work well around my property.

I have been using a Craftsman 200 mph 2 speed electric blower for 12 years now. It probably weighs 10 lbs or more and on the large size so I appreciate your advice on the 4.9 lb Homelite, E-T.

As many people know, I'm old and not in the best of health, I have issues with my shoulders, and having to blow off the top of my wife's SUV can cause me to hold the blower over my head for a few minutes and it causes me no discomfort.. AS we get older we need to adapt. and while I was in excellent shape a few years ago, I bought this blower because it did the job, and not because I was sick. Like I said, this has worked for me for 20 years, and I saw no reason to spend several hundred dollars on a blower for the specific job.

One other point, because my car's finish is well protected, water comes right off. Its part of my no scratch paint finish. If your car is dusty or has common silica ( sand ) on it.. using anything to rub it off , is not in your auto finish best interest, I don't even use a California duster because the wax draws in the sand and then rubs it across the finish. I do use clear water and sometimes a California water blade, but the blade is lubricated by the water, much like using clay with a lubricant. the only time I rub anything is right after blowing off a single panel after wetting it. this insures there is no surface sand on the finish.
