Default AC Problem

I have a 98 auto with the old AC system (no dual climate) it blows cold but no strong enough. When i turn it on and go through the different speeds I can hear the changes but it blows very weakly thru the vents. The thing I noticed is that when I switch through the different zones i dont hear the vents switching or feel any change of AC. So my guess is they are stuck. My question is how do access this and how do I fix this? Thank you!

I have 98 with dual zones but I bet its the same problem. The battery leaks a little and the corrosive eats away at the vaccuum lines under the battery tray. Pretty easy fix.

There's a piece of emissions tubing which gets hard and brittle when exposed to oils and acid. From the back of the intake, heading down through the wiring harness, then exiting the wiring harness to pass through the firewall, you'll find a black hard plastic tubing that's roughly 3/16" OD. Maybe not even that big.

That goes through the firewall and then only about 16" or so inside the cabin, it'll reach the distribution block for the AC vacuum. I spliced in a new piece leaving much of my original stuff there.

you'll end up taking out the battery and battery tray, and I'm going to say that under the passengers footwell you can reach all that without removing anything. Been a while so I don't recall though.

This post will show you most of the routing for that line. There is yet a distribution block and vacuum brake inside the passengers inner fender (front). That also will disintegrate into dust and those parts will need replaced also. Small $, dorman makes a vacuum brake for about $2 and the little vacuum box in there is just a few bucks too. If either of them are broken or cracked, no AC doors work. This post below does not show those items I just mentioned. There are pics somewhere on the forum, but I can't find them now. The box is attached to the frame just below the A pillar.
