I did a quick scroll and was surprised to not see anyone had posted this. Sorry if someone has though and I just didn't see it. His videos series aren't all that funny to me any more, but for some reason I keep watching them. I think other than his old man and gerneration jokes, he really missed the mark. Flame away.....
Don't much care for him or his show. I've been lucky enough to own a wide variety of foreign and domestic performance/muscle/sports cars, with the exception of true exotic supercars. In my humble opinion, for an automotive enthusiast who is looking for a reliable, fast, good handling car, with incredibly slick looks, I don't think there is anything out there that can offer as much as a well chosen C5 at such a modest price. The performance for the dollar is very hard to beat. He is entitled to his ranting and sarcastic opinion, but you know what people say about opinions, "opinions are like as@%*#es, everyone has one and most of them stink" Well, there you have it, my opinion of his opinion! Y'all take care and have a good one!
If he was laying out some facts.... like the interior is crap ..... seats are crap..... and your basically buying a base model sports car that needs a few upgrades to get it on par with its competition then he would of made more sense
He sort of goes round and round without saying anything really.......like hes trying to find something to hate but cant find it
Well, there are some truths in the commentary, especially regarding the guys like me, gray hairs, finally driving their dream cars. I just got back from a 2 hr drive in the ’04 Vert and I notice out of the corner of my eye many people looking at the vehicle (certainly not me) as I passed the outside restaurants. But that is not why I bought it. I bought it for my enjoyment. The thrill of shifting gears knowing that this car can go fast if I want it to. Unfortunately, that is what is missed in this video. And shamefully, the commentator will probably die driving a Prius.

The guy was rather annoying and really not humorous, but some of what he said is true. Honestly, he can have his opinion, but for me, it's very hard to beat the value, looks and performance potential of a C5.
I don't think he was "wrong" on many points but there is no right or wrong here, just opinions and observations. Do I miss my GTO-yes- Firebird-yes. But this is a C5 and it stands (very solidly) on it's own merits no matter what your age. I know guys in all age groups that run these cars from garage queens to track junkies. He does sort of come off like he likes the car but begrudgingly so. I'm even somewhat baffled by the fact fact many will look long and hard for a a low mileage pristine car and then just mod the crap out of it till it really is no longer (technologically and many times cosmetically) a C5. Never saw that in a group so prevalent previously but like even this guy said- "leave it alone and it's still a pretty damn nice/fast car". To each his own and I think he is right- the car deserves some respect. I don't just drive a car-I drive a Corvette. And not just a Corvette-a C5 Z06 and that's been pretty cool so far. And no, I don't think it's a "classic" but reliability/performance/styling/price you can't touch this (as the song went). Cheers...
Thankfully I've never seen or heard of him/his "show". Not saying in the perhaps minute that I somehow endured of him that he didn't have valid points, just the guy is about as interesting to listen to as... well I was gonna say as exciting as watching grass grow. But watching grass grow is entirely more entertaining IMO. Yawn.
Hello, came back to just touch on one of the points brought up by the video guy. He talks about vettes being a mid life crises thing etc. Well, I do have to acknowledge that when we have our meetings the youngest folks there are probably in their late 40's, most in their late 50's and up. I still go to other types of car shows such as hot rod events etc., and I see the same thing, no young folks involved either as participants or spectators. Seems most young people are really into tuner cars and here in Texas, big wheeled, mud tired, 4wd trucks w/winches on the front. Seems like interests have changed for the younger folks. Finances also kind of dictate whats going on too. Corvettes have gotten very expensive for the newer generations and even reasonably priced C5's can be pretty pricey to keep up, effectively making ownership a pretty tough deal for a lot of younger folks in these challenging financial times. Well, just a few musings on the age thing. Everybody have a good one!
I park my car in the garage of a large office building in Boston. There are plenty of folks who park there who make ten times what I make, I mean there is some serious dough. The parking garage attendants all want to talk to me, they love my car and they tell me it's the best car in the garage. That's not why I own it but I happen to agree with them.
Yeah, I'm in my 60s and yeah this is a dream car but it's not like it's the only car I could afford or that I considered buying. But for the mix of fun, beauty, reliability, utililty and affordability, it simply can't be beat. So take that, you snotty reviewer.
Personally I've never really understood the idea that Corvette as a brand is not respected. Outside of forums and certain car publications, I just don't see it. In real life I get compliments for my car on a quite regular basis, and it is nothing special. It doesn't have a bright flashy color, it hasn't been (outwardly) modified, and it isn't a Z06. Nevertheless I quite regularly hear, "nice car! I used to own one of those, loved it! I want to get one of those!" And from track day instructors, "it's so composed! I love this thing!"
Once again I don't see this "lack of respect." Frankly the entire idea that Corvettes aren't respected because they don't defeat competition costing two or three times as much in all spheres is laughable on face. No other car or brand is held to such a standard.
Great..............another guy with nothing to say but says it anyway because he loves to hear himself talk. That was a waste of almost 10 minutes of my time.
I think it is kind of funny, let's face it, some guys do take their Corvettes a little too seriously. And the original accordion music "C5's are better than drugs."
I think some of you people take what he says to heart. Relax, he has a 'reputation' to uphold and creates funky videos to cater to his viewers. Personally, i got tired of this guy a year ago but to each their own. I will say the parts where he talks about chrome accessories seems to be DEAD on. There is almost truth in every stereotype.
Personally, I find it pretty humorous. I find a lot of his analogies are the same for any guy who buys a toy to play with whether it be a boat, bike or car---the true quest of "making it your own". Yes, I am one of those gray haired, pony tailed individual who bought himself an American classic for retirement and you know what---I'm really freakin' happy and proud of the car when I take her out for a ride and that's what really matters for me. If you bought it as an investment, you pretty much screwed up, but if you bought right, chances are you won't lose a boat load of money when it's time to sell. My final thoughts on this is "have fun as long as you can because death is forever.
i have watched the C3, C4, C6 vids that he produced, and thought they were good, funny. never could find the C5 one, will have to watch tonight.
thanks for posting!
as for me, during my time owning my C5, i got lots of stares! a lot of people's eyes sort of light up when you say "i own a corvette"--i think it is sort of the dream car for many, that most for whatever reason don't own (price, practical, etc). i remember shortly before I sold mine, picking up some food for my son's soccer team event, and the HS kid who helped me bring out the food to the car, after seeing my yellow 2000, said: "cool car". the envy you could hear in his voice was priceless....i of course had the same thoughts when seeing C3s when i was in HS!!!!!!
