I have an 01 Z06 with XS power long tube headers, hi flow cats and x pipe, Corsa catback exhaust, ADE CAI and upgraded radiator. I would like to install a cam and I assume underdrive pulley since the pulley ahs to be pulled anyway. Any suggestions on the cam to install. I want to keep the car streetable but also bump the HP and torque. Let me know your thoughts.
Jeff
I spent all winter reading forum threads and trolling dyno graphs for power curves to pick mine. Then I paid Pat G $25 to spec a cam specific to my car, driving style, heads, tire size, planned use, etc. and got a special price from Texas Speed on a custom ground cam. Nothing uber unique about the grind but a slight twist on a TSP off the shelf grid I was going to go with. It's basically free with the cam cost discount and worth the piece of mind I was making the correct decision. Mine is on its way and can't wait for it to go in!
Exactly the cam I chose. Great driveability, narrow LSA so you will KNOW the car is cammed, Ed Curtis is a wizard, and that cam will make a lot more power/make the car a lot faster than you would expect a cam that size to make.
Looks like the FTI or the Texas Speed is the best choice for me. Any thoughts on changing the underprice pulley since it has to come off anyway. Is it worth it and which one.
Thanks I am very excited. Purchased headers and off road x pipe, the cam kit, vararam cai, harmonic balancer, monster clutch kit, and all the hardware and gaskets needed. Gonna be busy for a while.
