I have an 01 Z06 with XS power long tube headers, hi flow cats and x pipe, Corsa catback exhaust, ADE CAI and upgraded radiator. I would like to install a cam and I assume underdrive pulley since the pulley ahs to be pulled anyway. Any suggestions on the cam to install. I want to keep the car streetable but also bump the HP and torque. Let me know your thoughts.
Where do you live? Surely there is a shop close that can help. I'm not sure that there is a "best" cam. There are certainly some bad ones, but if it was me I'd find a shop that I trusted and pick their brain on what they've seen work for the goals you have in mind.
Best of luck. It is certainly worth the effort and $$ to put in a cam.
There is a speed shop by me but there is also a lot of smart good people on this site as well. Looking for some feedback. I know this question is like asking what is the best pair of running shoes. However, there are some people with experience I would like feedback from. I would like a good aggressive sound with good hp gains and mid range power. However I don't want to kill daily driving. It is not a daily driver but I also don't want to make undrivable. Thanks.
You can spend alot of money, or just get a Powerbond pulley. I had a %25 when I was NA, and had no issues. Probably a good idea to pin it to the crank, while you're there, and get a upgraded oil pump, timing chain, and springs. There's so many custom cams available now that weren't when I bought my last cam, but generally, something in the range of 228-232@ 112 will give you a large gain, but will still drive fairly stock-like. You may also need to start thinking about clutches, too.

It sounds like you want the same things in a cam as I do. I have a lot of experience with cammed cars and I'd target an intake duration in the mid to late 220's and exhaust duration in the low to mid 230's. Here are some really good options for you to research further (in not particular order)
All three of the above cams were designed by big names in the LS community who really know their stuff when it comes to cams. All three will exhibit a strong mid-range, top-end, choppy idle, and stock-like drivability (with a good tune).

PS. Love the pic above.
That's exactly what I wanted and what I got with the Tick Performance SNS Torque Monster Stage 3...the drivability really has a LOT to do with the tune
In my LS1 I had a 224/230 114LSA and I loved it, the torque curve was flat and strong! i also had RPMMotors 243's and LG street long tubes. Eventually, I put a Fast90 on it and it laid down 450/420 with no flat spots. It was a blast to drive!
My C5 Z06 has headers, hi-flow cats, stock Ti exhaust, a FAST 102 and LS2 TB. The cam is a custom cam designed by a very well known LS tuner in the Southeast its a 228/232 .598/598 113LSA. Car drives very easy and makes power everywhere. It made 455/432 on the dyno.
For a Daily Driver that you don't drive everyday a cam in the 228 to 234 range with .590ish to .610ish lift will do everything you want and sound very well to guys beside you at the light.
The texas speed I am looking at is the 228R, 228/228 600/600 112 lsa
Very proven cam. Been around forever and set the standard for many of the popular grinds we see today. Has had revisions over the years to keep it more up to date so fortunately it's not stuck in the past. Def a very solid choice for a fun street car. I do feel the similarly sized cams with a duration split is a little better way to go nowadays tho, seem to make better power with same drivability.

I am having a hard time deciding still, which cam do you recommend then?

If the 228r will deliver what you're looking for in a cam I'd also consider the cams listed in post #7. All real solid options for a good street cam with great power and giving a strong mid-range, top-end and great drivability with a good tune.

Yes I really like the top one, little more aggressive then the tsp 228r, thanks for showing me that.
