Default Price help

So my first thread here was about a c5 that was going to be my first vette. Long story short and a leaky rear main seal, i walked away from that car. Found another an hr away at a dealer known for vette sales. 6,094 mi. Electron blue, 6 spd, black leather, HUD, 1SB, and z51 package. Polished wheels, one roof- transparent. Like this one more than the one i walked away from, but I need a sanity check. Does have a leaky oil pan gasket that they agreed to replace.

Asking 28995 and they have a one price no haggle policy. Thoughts on price would be greatly appreciated.

I think $29K for a Coupe is insane. You can buy a comparable mileage 2004 Commemorative Z06 for that. Keep looking, be patient.

Quite overpriced, even given the milage? What's the number you'd all expect to see that at?

TBH, that's a very desirable car...Electron Blue is rare, especially on a coupe and with those options, wow. Mileage is crazy low, hence the price.

Now, it's absolutely overpriced. But, the likelihood of finding one like it with those options is miniscule. I've been looking consistently for this exact car since I bought my car over 2 years ago and have yet to find one. I've grown to like my Spiral Gray coupe enough, but keep looking because I REALLY want an Electron Blue coupe.

If you're not set on the color, then absolutely keep looking for something else. You can find really nice coupes for high teens.

I gotta go with other members, way overpriced. Sounds like a nice car barring any problems showing during your due diligence, but even so, in my opinion, thousands over where it should be. And remember, on anything you look at, accident history, maintenance history, tech/shop check by good C5 fluent folks. Take care!

You never said what year the Electron Blue one was.............my opinion is you can find a better deal out there. Also I would personally be leery about buying a car with such low miles. I know some may say the lower the mileage the better but with cars of this age I would feel more comfortable if it had more miles. Again just an opinion.

Thanks JR - never heard of that site before. Looking at the comps, it looks to be +/- 1k in the right zone.

The prices are going up on the low mileage cars.

I doubt that will be the only leak that develops if you start driving it. That car has spent it's life parked. If you want to park it and wax it you'll be fine.

This is what your bank will use. I threw in magnetic ride as an option just because that may add money and also used 6k miles. This may be my locale but it shows $22,700 for a pristine car. That would be the MOST you should pay. If there is no documentation of any of the fluids being changed then that is something that needs to be negotiated. Same with the tires. I assume they're the originals. Those need to be replaced ASAP. Those items right there knock off $2k from the $22.7k price. I would say $20k out the door would be reasonable. Maybe a little more if they agreed to replace the tires and ALL fluids.

With that said, run away. You state this is a no-haggle dealership. They are off their rockers. They are asking above book value. We purchased my wife's car from a no-haggle dealer and it was marked at $3k UNDER book value. That's what you expect to see. This dealership is just out to rip off any unsuspecting customer.

That price does seem high, especially with an oil leak. I bought my 03 EB 6 spd coupe with similar options execpt mine has the light oak interior and the F55 suspension a couple of years ago for around 20K. It had 37,000 miles on it. I say keep looking for a better deal.

Price seems high even for such low mileage. Bought my '03 AE convert. 5 years ago for $25K It had 24,000 miles on it, 2 years ago replacing the oil pan gasket at the dealership was quoted at $1,000 ($750 for labor)--Local guy charged me $550 but said never again. If it has the original run-flats on it, the new tires will run you $1600+ if you go with the run-flats. I'd keep looking

KBB value for "excellent" condition (with 6K miles) is $18K trade and $21K retail. If you're going to drive this thing... Meh. Keep looking.

As others have stated, you're going to pour a bunch of bucks into various rubber and rubber-sealed components on your 13 year old, new car. I'd prefer 25 or 30K miles any day over 6. I'd keep shopping...
