When I first got my car I installed Quadapower cat back, wasn't real happy, very loud. Then gutted the interior and sound proofed it, made it tolerable. Before I replaced that system I installed XS Power 1 7/8 headers with high flow cats and 3" x pipe. The headers made the exhaust more of a tuned sound and as others stated sounds mild until you can it. I love the sound of the exhaust the way it is !!!
How was the XSPower install. Reading through the thread it is hard to tell if they worked out some of the issues.
you get what you pay for, if you want a set that you won't have to clearance the tunnel, worry if your o2 sensors wiring will melt, or any of the other hassles you read in those posts get a set of arh or lgs or kooks.

once I cut a tab off the bellhousing very easy. for half the cost of the others to me it's a no brainer, If someone gave me one of the top brands, I wouldn't take the XS Power's off.
My convertible came with the Kooks long tubes from the previous owner. I believe they're 1 7/8". They're a snug fit, but the construction appears top notch. This has the full 3" catted X pipe. Originally it had a over axle section which was a borla stinger knockoff which in my opinion was too loud considering I drive home from work in the middle of the night regularly. I replaced it with the LG big 3 which has a much deeper and quieter sound.
I would keep your TIs on the car and see how it is. The headers and high-flow cats can make a huge difference in the sound over stock manifolds.

That is the million $ (or couple of hundred $ ) question. Since I will need to source the install I can see how the labor bill can quickly eat up any savings if I go with a lower cost option.
I would throw a vote for American racing headers. Of course that is what I have on my car so naturally I vote for them. Fit and finish appears to be second to none.
