From reading the stickys it seems like the sway bar bushings are usually the cause of squeaks when driving over small dips/bumps. I had some bushings lubed (not sure which ones) last year and seemed to mostly clear it up but has returned this year. Are there any other bushings which may be the cause? My local Chevy dealer quoted $105 just for diagnosis. If I simply tell them to replace the sway bar bushings there is no additional diagnosis fee. So they would charge $150 to replace at my direction or $255 if they diagnose and verify that's the problem. Not quite sure how to proceed. Thanks for any advice!
It's probably the stabilizer bushings, I would use some dielectric grease on them... Don't know your situation but, if you can it is a very simple thing to drop the stabilizer to get at the bushings... maybe a fellow C5 owner near you would be willing to help do that 15 minute job
If you have to maybe find some reliable shop to do that simple job that won't RAPE you....

If you cant do the work yourself pay for the diagnosis. I also had a squeak, rattle over small bumps at low speed. I read all the post about end links being the issue and thought why not give it a shot since they were only about $30 each. I replace both of them and still had the noise. Then I read about the sway bar bushings being the culprit like 73 vette said. This time I decided to get smart before buying any more parts. I took the sway bar with end links completely off the car for a test and drove it. The noise was still there. So whatever my problem is it is completely unrelated to the sway bar. Removing the sway bar is just 6 nuts. As 73 vette said it is about a 15 minutes job. You May want to take it completely off and go for a short slow drive and see if your issue is still there.
I do have a reliable and fair priced speed shop nearby. I can understand a diagnosis fee for complex electrical issues and the like but for suspension?
Replacing vs lubing the bushings I thought would be the longer more permanent solution but really don't know.
