, while it's a tad lateto do anything about this trailer, I'm thinking this is a product
I need , I did an ebay and youtube search:

From: $20 something up to whatever you want to spend I'm sure,
some have these features:
1) Alert you to movement
2) listen in
3) A panic button to call up to 5 phones
for someone (child etc) carrying one.
4) An 'overspeed' alert, you know , if someone
is steeling your car/trailer really fast and
that would make you agitated, or seriously ,
say your kid is driving over 145 mph or so ,
it can call or text you.
To find out where 'it' (the transponder) is
you can have it call you every 30 minutes for example
or you can text it , and it will send longitude Latitude.
I realize this is not new technology, but last time I looked
into it , it was hard to find much on it and costly.
