well that's what happens when you bury the speedometer so you never figured it out or didn't care ????
Never figured it out. I would be cruising at the same exact speed, the revs would jump around and go to zero and then flutter some more while the speedo was doing some other random action.
There was also a spot in my old shop where wireless bike computers would all max out at 99mph while sitting still. Had customers wondering why they had a lot more mileage than when they dropped their bike off
.....akapounder, Have you replaced the 'low oil level' sending unit in the oil pan. Changed mine out last week, and I no longer get false readings on the DIC......

no /// the pressure gauge goes to zero ???? just in this one spot ???? doesn't matter if I'm going east or west ????
Or temporarily wrap a couple pieces of aluminum foil around the sensor and it's fittings. Not some tiny thing, make a "tent" and make sure it's grounded. Think Faraday Cage.
May want to go all the way and make a tin foil hat also. Just to be sure.
when driving down the road and all of a sudden you hear, ding, ding, ding and what the hell is that and you look at the DIC and then the gauge-----OH CRAP !!!!! your ready to hit the key and everything back to normal ???? and you look in the rear view mirror and you have these antennea coming out of your head, then it's OH Double Crap
I posted the same issue about 2 years ago on a certain section of freeway in So. Cal. Still happened recently when I drove over it around July 4th. It must be some kind of electrical interference in the road, or a sensor in the road that causes this. I don't worry about it anymore. I know my oil pump is working and the crankcase is full of oil, just odd how it happens at that one spot.
