First of all, I want to state that I have read the majority of the threads regarding the Code 0327 and I can't find my problem anywhere in this forum.
I purchased my 2000 Coupe ( auto with 66k miles completely stock) several months ago from an individual. The first week while my son was driving it for a short ride, the engine light came on and since he was near his friends house who is an auto mechanic, he stopped there to see him. He pulled the code with his expense device and of course code 0327 came up stating Knock Sensors. So, we replaced both Knock Sensors and the Harness that week and everything was find. I was driving the next week and the engine light came on again and went back to the mechanic and he switched Knock Sensors around. Everything was good for awhile and then the light came on again and the same problem, code 0327. Cleared the code myself and was talking with my son about this issue and we came to the conclusion that the engine light comes on only if we push the car a little hard.
So, for one week I drove the car in town for about 200 miles with speeds up to 60 and no problem. The next week I was going for a doctor appointment in another town and got on the Interstate. Merging on the Interstate I got up to 75 mph and the engine light came on again.
So it appears that normal city driving and with speeds up to 60 mph, the engine light does not come on. It's just when you give it some gas and hit about 70/75 mph is when the code 0327 comes back on.
I recently retired so I bought this as a nice weekend car and maybe put 500 miles a month on it. I was using Chevron premium gas, but they all changed to Marthan stations here so I started using Shell premium gas.
Any ideas what is happening here's?
Thanks,
Mike
I read somewhere that water infiltration can mess up the connections causing the 0327 code. Has a hole been cut in the cowl to replace the oil pressure sensor?
To JR-01 No to your question regarding cutting the cowl to replace the oil pressure sensor.
To 8VETTE7 after the mechanic installed the knock sensors and harness, I learned how to pull the codes myself. Now the mechanic did clear all of the codes at that time and then I cleared the 0327 code.
The only code that is showing now besides the 0327, is in the:
40BCM B2723H
Bill I will check to make sure that the knock sensors were torqued to 15 lbs and he did install a new wiring harness with the new knock sensors.
I have my 3 service manuals and will try to find that section that you were talking about.
Thanks,
Mike
Well, we check the knock sensors and harness and they were ok. Like I stated before, in town driving no 0327 codes pop up. Last week I was on the interstate and was hitting 90/100 mph and no code came up. I thought that everything was good till today I hit the Interstate again and code 0327 came on again. When I stopped 30 minutes later at the doctors office, I cleared the code 0327 and then went in for my appointment.
Came out 30 minutes later and jumped back on the interstate and hitting 80 or so and NO code 0327 popped up.
Has anyone had this problem with this code before? I talked by phone to a Corvette place in another city and told him my problem. He said something like it was in the vacuum and they would put "smoke in it to see where it is leaking out. Does this sound strange to you?
Thanks again for your input, I'm really lost on this one.

I recently had both knock sensor codes come up every once in a while (there is a separate code for each sensor). 0327 is the code for the front sensor and 0332 is for the rear. I did some research and discovered if both codes are coming up, then its almost certainly a pinched wiring harness, as it's unlikely both sensors would fail at the same time. The intake had been off not long before this so I reasoned that the mechanic probably pinched the harness when he reinstalled the intake. Turns out I was right. So, if you are only getting the single code 0327, I would venture to say that it's possible that you were unlucky and got a defective front sensor? Not sure what type you used. I think they are all Bosch now as GM OEM is discontinued. Someone else mentioned they are susceptible to water damage and I also found out that is true and there is a TSB to seal the depression that they sit in after they are installed. Not sure if you ever actually spray water on your engine or if it ever somehow got wet? I think the best bet is to replace that front sensor again or check the wiring to the front sensor. It's a bit of a pain to remove the intake again but no way around it if you want to fix the problem.
Oh, and if you take the intake off again, replace the oil pressure sensor while you have the intake off as a little preventative maintenance. The sensor isn't expensive and it will save you a bunch of extra work in the future pulling off your intake again (or cutting the cowl) to replace it when it does eventually go. You should also replace the passenger side check valve for the same reasons. Also a very cheap part but requires intake removal to replace.
