What Cray wheels are u considering? I have the Cray Hawk wheels in Matte Black on my Black C5 and I really like them. Going on 2 years having them with no issues. I personally prefer polished but nothing wrong with chrome if thats what u like.
I don't like chrome because some chrome wheels start to flake. Apart from looking bad, it can flake where the bead sits, making the wheel basically unusable (unless you strip the chrome off the bead.)
If you can get the same wheels in non-chrome, I'd recommend it purely from a functional perspective.
I wasn't asking if you guys like chrome wheels.
I was asking about the quality of cray wheels.
I don't have 3-4k to spend on wheels.
thanks.
The ones above on my Y2K vert are over 5 years old and there is no problem with the chrome, they balance perfectly and clean easily. The only thing I would do different than what is on my car is I would have went with 18/19 combo instead of the 19/20 which is what is above. I don't like the thin band of a tire in the 19/20. The original owner installed the wheels so I had them from the beginning. I love them but just would size them differently if I had it to do over.
Chrome looks good on 60s muscle cars. It looks "right" on them.
Modern sports cars (and I know "modern" is a stretch for a 12-19 yr. old car) do not wear chrome well. It cheapens the look. Reminds me of a donk, but not quite as bad. And when you add other chrome doo dads to a C5, it only gets worse. Think flame tail light lovers, side marker surrounds, chrome side fins, etc.... None of this should ever been seen on a C5 corvette.
Then again, some people love to "enhance" their cars from the J.C. Whitney collection

BTW, I think the polished Cray wheels look good and I am not afraid of their quality. They are made by TSW and I have owned two sets of their wheels and thought the quality was fine.
