Hey all, joys of corvettes, odd noises!! Having c4 flashbacks right now
First, sometimes but not always it makes a constant high pitched whistle/whine coming from what seems like the dash? Or the engine bay? Only happens when engine is running, stop the second you kill engine. Happens in all gears, parked, rpm doesn't change it.
Only thought is the fan..checked yesterday and had a bunch of plastic burning caught in the fan behind the radiator. Not sure if I'm hearing fan motor dying??
Second noise, steering wheel. When I turn it slowly it makes a creek/groan. Sounds like a old hindge.. does it need lube. If so what kind and how? Ahh.
Any advice would be great!!!!

Mine has been doing that for about the last year. It seems there are certain spots it does it in the wheel rotation. I just keep the music up and don't notice.
Would be cool if someone has figured it out, though.

Lol!! Not the fix I'm hoping for! Do you know at what spots it does it? Seems like anytime I turn the wheel slowly it creaks...
High pitch whistle noise could be your 02 (air injector emissions) pump that pumps air into manifolds to dilute pollutants before they are discharged into the air. Common noise especially upon start up.

Whistle could also be the small fan that pulls the cabin air in to measure temp for a/c. It's behind the small grill that pops out near the ignition.

Thank you for input!!! Same question for both, how do I test it? Can I pull codes for it? Or can I inspect it?
My gf thinks it has to do with the a/c and that's is worse with a/c on.
Is there a way to test that a/c fan. It does seem like it comes from the dash area.
You can unplug the power to the small fan that's mounted right behind the 2" or so grille by the ignition. If the noise stops, it was the fan. It has a small connector with a short piece of wire attached to it.
Disconnect the connector with the green wire to kill power. The fan is the little round one surrounded by foam in his hand.
