Default A/C question

Asking for a friend. The discharge tube on his A/C is clogged and not letting the condensation out and is leaking into the car. Is there a way to unclog it? Thanks

On the pass. side in the wheel well is a inspection cover where you will find this tube.

the AC one is real hard to get to!!! it is down on the firewall on the right side of the engine, it is easier to take the battery out to get to the tubes on the pass. side.

the three on the divers side are real easy to get if you take out the windshield washer tank, or if your have small hands not !!!!

The AC drain is located on the passenger side firewall behind and below the head.It is a bear to get to.When i have my car on jackstands in the spring for oil change etc,i fish a long plastic zip tie into the drain fitting to see if anything is plugging it.Some guys might use a flexible length of wire etc.I never tried to remove the 90 degree coupling since it may be hard to reinstall.Sometimes when i run my AC for less than 20 minutes,i have little to no drain water. Then i have had times when i run the AC longer and it drains onto the headers so that tells me it is at least open.

I removed and cleaned the 90 degree rubber AC drain (which is on the passenger side firewall) from underneath with the car on jack stands.

Last picture from post #2, looking from above. Pretty easy with average size hands from underneath. If this drain is plugged, AC condensate water will back up and drip on to the passenger side floor, possibly damaging the body control module or the blower motor over time.

The drains from the cowl for the drivers side can be reached just by reaching under with your hand, or taking out the wash tank.

The passenger side cowl drain will require battery removal for access.

If the cowl drains are plugged, rain or car wash water can back up into the HVAC ducting and again end up damaging the body control module or blower motor.

Two different sources of water.
