Not the best, but still decent. Apparently when I was scouting new locations I neglected to notice all the marks on the road. Turns out I think people use the road heavily for racing. I just wanted to take a few pictures. Stopped on the road and waited for the sun to drop, and an SVT focus showed up and just waited near me. Figured I'd lap the block slow, come back. He was gone. 2 minutes later, he shows up again. Played the same game for like 20 min before I got the street to myself for 5 min. Pics are kinda rushed, not bad, but they could be better- I need to go back again hopefully w/out rice roaming around. Also had to photoshop in an entirely missing light that the city apparently didn't feel like fixing and was messing up the symmetry of my photo.

Good pic...but it looks like the car was abandoned in middle of road (stress me out, lol) Probably better shot with it parked at curb (legal like) and you take pic at angle from across street. IMHO

He probably had to do that because of that No Parking sign in the background. Middle of the street was ok, just not on the curb

Pretty cool settting for the pic. That Focus must have felt like a pesky fly when you were trying to take the shot.

Nice picture. With a tripod, longer exposure, and a little less noise (ISO), you could have an even better shot.

Yea I agree with the last 2 comments. I used a Canon 40D at 800 iso thanks to the rice rocket that wouldn't get lost. Was back in an industrial park that I assumed would have been more dead than it actually was. Tripod, maybe 400 on my iso and it'd have been a lot better. I'll get back out there again probably in the fall. Nice red sunsets a lot here in the fall.

To put it in perspective, I'm not a n00b with a camera or photoshop, i promise ;-) :

Personally for a "glamor shot" as you out it, I'd choose a unique setting that either enhances the features/lines of the car and/or one that offers up a color palette that enhances the color of your car (by either coinciding with it or significantly contrasting with it).

I've never really taken glamour shots of my car because I'm still trying to find a place that meets the criteria.

Below are a few that I found that kinda reflect what I'm talking about...the last blue one being the "contrasting" setting.

Just keeping working at it, and have fun!

Nice shots Frank. I like the last one the best by far. Not a fan of the filter on the first one, and I think the silver gets lost in the concrete on the 2nd, but just my opinion. I think that silver vette would look great against a black backdrop. Yea - I've honestly been lazy shooting as of late. Haven't gotten out much, and my favorite places have been "revitalized" which is a double edged sword. Nice there's not decay there anymore, but I lost "my spots". Gotta scout a bit some more.

Nso - yea I don't live DT, but I work down there. First pic i posted a way back is by south park and smith at the grain elevator there. One here is close to the inner harbor. I couldn't believe how busy it was when I tried to take that shot. Apparently there was a small little park in there, and a walk way as well.

Very nice. I'm ashamed to say I have more pictures of my cars than my 2 grandkids.

The setting almost looks like time travel with the street lamps if it weren't for the SUV's on the overpass. I'm always looking for the perfect glamour shot. Bring on more pictures!

I wish I could take credit for them...I just Googled and found them!

I now what ya mean about having to make time to scout out spots. I used to do more of that, but now am just happy to get drive time in...and maybe take a quick "snap shot" or two here or there.

Nice shot. Consider cropping the right side almost to the light pole or even cropping that one out altogether because of the distracting sign on it, and it would lose most of that ugly building.

Composition is key!! You've got a great start there!

Does this look any better?
