The Corvette Effect is what I call the phenomenon when I'm out for a casual drive, and for reasons that I can probably guess, other non-Corvette drivers seemingly have something to prove. They do it by passing around me aggressively, revving their engines/exhausts, and various other attempts to show they are superior. It cracks me up most of the time! I also call it the Non-Corvette Inferiority Complex. I think it's a real thing!
Have great weekend, everyone!
I own both a '03 Corvette vert and a Chevy SSR. With the SSR no issue possibly because most people don't know what it is, lol. The Corvette truly attracts the "will kick yer a$$ attitude" with moms Caravan. So (I guess) their plan is to make me feel inferior so I will sell my Corvette and borrow my moms Caravan for a cruise and kick some Corvette a$$! Ya right! lol. Well for sure the Corvette gets attention...good and bad! Have fun, Rob
Guys in pickup trucks! One guy was holding position beside me on a curving ramp. WTF??
I love it when trucks and SUVs tailgate into a turn or ramp.. I just accelerate and watch them struggle to keep up in the turn. They usually end up a a speck in the mirror.
Yeah for me it's mostly jacked-up pickups and motorcycles, and the occasional Charger or Challenger. Although I appreciate motorcyclists that are mutually respectful, I don't have an appreciation for jacked-up trucks. Another frustration is when I wave at another classic or sports car and get nuthin.
It is a real thing . Toyyatos whatever trying to race me really LOL...Almost forgot the new C-7s Stingrays also can't run with this 04 Z ( Got a little something in it ) Too funny..

For some reason, it's always the modded-diesel trucks....sure, it's impressive to see that much weight move that quickly, but to want to race a Corvette...
i agree, and what is funniest of all is the huge diesel pick/ups jacked 3 feet into the air trying to establish their presence when they get along side...actually they are just trying to make up for their own insecurities and inadequacies.

I have this happen to me just about every other day !!
We've only had ours for about 3 weeks now but it seems we get tailgated a lot more in this car over our other ones. And lots of rubberneckers. The Borla exhaust sounds like a sputtering, popping, backfiring tractor so maybe that is it.
Have to agree on this, usually the jacked up red neck truck types. Not all the time but often enough to take notice of. I don't acknowledge them and they usually lose interest in short order. Actually used to get more of this when driving my 911. Everyone take good care!
