I have a 2000 C5 and my HUD display his misaligned to the point that I can just barely see the top of my display. I have done some research and it appears the display unit has worked it's self off of the tracks that hold it in place. After some research it appears I can either remove the dash and slide the display back into the tracks or break the plastic cover and work the display back onto it's track. Removing the dash is not something I feel comfortable doing. I can break the plastic cover but is it a easy piece to replace. Does anyone here have any additional advice as to how I can get my HUD display to function correctly. I have done a search here and came up empty. Thanks in advance for any advice provided.
Thanks for that link brother. Looks like a doable repair although it will be labor intensive. I have more time than money so once this summer weather breaks I will get to work.

If you haven't already, place the ignition key in the on position with the drivers window down. Stand outside by the door and with a flash light (if needed) look through the windshield down into the HUD while adjusting up and then down the HUD display toggle switch on the left side of the instrument panel. You should be able to see the mirror move back and forth within the 2 proximity switches located on the right in photo.
If there is completely no movement, you may have a blown fuse (either #19 or 25) located in the fuse panel under the footboard on the passenger side.
If no blown fuse: Just this last week my HUD completely quit after I traveled over a high and rough railroad crossing. I dismantled the console to remove the IPC and sure enough the ribbon cable from the HUD that connects to the top rear on the IPC was not seated all the way. I re-seated it and the HUD worked again. Worth a try and besides, getting to the HUD involves the first step of dismantling the middle console.
Grainraiser, I used the thread provided by CJ1957 to repair the HUD in my 2000 FRC. It took less time than I had anticipated and there were no surprises. If I can do it, anyone can. Thanks also to CJ1957 for the additional instructions and guidance.
I second the repair thread linked by CJ1957. Took me about 4 hours. I used metal screws in place of the plastic pins that it pivots on. Wasn't a bad repair. Replaced my flasher while I was in there.
