Default 1999 Targa top

does anyone else find it a wrestling match or to say the least, difficult, to put the removable targa top back into position? It took me a better than 20 minutes of fighting, to put removable top back into position. What, pray tell, am I doing wrong. I do it just as the manual says, and I find it , just a plain old pain in the but to enjoy the open top up here in the fall weather of the Midwest.
Any suggestions?
Gus./..

I installed a new Halo weatherstrip and now it's a beach too.

I take mine off and on all the time, no problems.
There are adjustments on both the targa's center back latch and front two latches.

Less that a minute. Just line up the rear mounting pegs with the detents in the targa and let it fall into place. Just don't forget to latch everything so you don't become a member of the FRC.

Takes about a minute for me - and my car is in dire need of a rear halo seal.

I stand on the passenger side, left hand on the "rear" of the top in the middle and right hand (I'm right handed) slightly South of the middle on the "front" of the top. Rear closest peg goes in first, jostle the furthest rear peg in next, then it literally flops into place with the drop of my right hand.

Once you get the install down, you'll find it really is pretty easy.
