Default Got a roommate

Found a roommate for my '99, it's a bone stock '03 with 25,000 miles. The difference in personally of the two is more dramatic than I had anticipated. The 99 is mechanically stock, with an automatic, base suspension, sport seats, lowered on stock bolts, etc. but does have the 3.15 rear.
The Z06 is definitely more raw, it's louder, more harsh in every thing it does.. and I love it! Just based on seat of the pants the 60 hp difference in the two feels more like 160.
Two things I wish the Z06 had is the telescopic wheel (I'm 5'10" with long legs and really like being able to pull the wheel closer) and the sport seats. After installing new foam and getting the side bolster air bags working in the 99 the seats aren't quite so objectionable.

I've driven a couple modified C5 Z06s but this is the first stock one I've experienced.. I'm pretty impressed

The only thing better than owning a vette is...owning 2.

Congrats.

Part of the performance difference you feel is the tight M12 6 speed as well. A manual vs auto I would thin in general feel a little different, but the tighter gears in the M12 make it feel even faster.

That is a good looking Z right there.

Yes, they are worlds different than a base coupe. Especially if you are used to an automatic.

Oh, and you definitely got the right color.......

I guess I'm in the minority here. I mean, congrats and all, but I don't get the multiple C5 thing. If it were a gen1-2, then that'd be fun to have two. I'm one to talk; I rarely get to drive the one I have. Maybe the 99 is the SO's car now?

Congrats.
Initially that wasn't the plan. We were looking at a '13 Grandsport and the dealer had accepted the offer we made, but I was going to use the '99 as a trade in. I was almost offended by what they offered us and backed out. I'd also had my eye on this Z06 for a couple weeks.. after doing a little math we came to the conclusion we could have two practically showroom new C5's for almost $3,000 less than what the Grandsport was going to be.

Yes, she prefers the automatic and removable roof.

That is one really sharp looking Z06 you got. What a stablemate for the '99.
