Has anyone installed the Ecklers replacement bushings for the Auto Transmission cable?
Just wonder if they would last as long as stock because of the cuts in them?
The cuts in them make them easier to install. I wouldn't think the cuts are going to make a difference in service life. If they do make a difference you will never experience it.
I am trying to initiate a pre-emptive strike before mine fail. My C5 has been my DD for 16 years and I am seeing quite a few posts on this problem that left people stranded.
Not sure why some posts say to put the shifter in Neutral to work on the shifter cable? Why would that matter?
People have been using the Dorman bushing for both ends of the cable with good results, and some others are using the ATF-Speed pin for the transmission end.

A good reminder for anyone dealing with plastic bushings and/or grommets is to let them sit in hot (NOT boiling) water before installation. Helps a lot.
