Not many hang out in this section, mostly in the FI section.
OP, what is your setup and what are your goals?
I converted my mild head/cam 01Z to an auto. It looked and performed like OEM. Put it in D and just cruise around.
Of course, it ran 11.0hs on the track, but it was a hoot to drive on the street.
My specific reason for doing the swap was I bracket raced is and wanted the consistency of an auto.
Others have done a variety of different styles of auto swaps. Some prefer the stand alone controllers. I figured, unless you go with an aftermarket engine controller, no need to use and after market trans controller.
My current ride has a TH400/brake/MVB.

I'll hit up the FI section. I like shifting but I know autos win races lol. Turboed 2000 FRC. Making 610/640 for now. I'd rather just do a manual vb and not mess with aftermarket controllers unless I go hollery or something later.

The stock PCM controls the trans just fine for most applications.
If you want a MVB, that's fine. Just wanted to be clear that the pcm can do the job. Wasn't sure if I was in my previous post.
