Native Floridian here. We are about 50 miles off the coast, but we are preparing as if it will be a direct hit, and it may be. Cars are safe in garages, and all is good. We were heading out of town for a week Friday, but we are taking off tomorrow instead.

I'm 4+ hours from the coast and 1 hour west of Charlotte which is expected to see some of this storm. Hoping it's not going to come inland too far! Fingers crossed for everyone in it's path!! Don't forget the pets!!

and keep the Vette up HIGH !!!! (Neil Chadwick get all those Lambos and such up)
My Vette lives well...high and dry, warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I feed it anytime its hungry and always keep her showered.
With 145,000 miles and 16 years old, she's no kid, but in good shape.
Newer shoes and a diet of nothing but the best.
Concrete block construction beats the heck out of vinyl siding and 2x4's with styrofoam walls. I pulled the hurricane shutters on Der Fuhrer Bunker this morning. Hoping for the best. 12 miles inland on the Treasure Coast. Generator ready, lots of fuel (two cars with full tanks). Wife bought the store out of potato chips yesterday. We are as ready as we can be.
We're on the west coast so we missed this one (hopefully) except for a bit of rain and wind. Folks on the East cost have hopefully heeded the evac. orders and got the hell outta Dodge. But, it's not just Florida, it's pretty much the whole coastline from Florida to South (and maybe North) Carolina.
