I know if I were a certain someone I'd leave my car out in the Hurricane hoping it gets swept away so I could then go collect insurance money and buy a newer Vette with less problems..................
I think we just dodged the bullet ....3 degrees more north. Land contact now is above Palm Beach County. We are in Broward County. We are just feeling the winds.
My thoughts are with all that are in the path of this storm. Hoping all will take the proper precautions to avoid injury or worse. All else can be replaced, as devastating as that can be. Best wishes and take good care!!!
Anyone who stays for a cat 4 or 5 is a freekin' nut and deserves what they get. Darwinism....
I live right on the Gulf Coast, and my home, elevated 23' off the ground and constructed entirely of reinforced concrete and bulletproof glass, is the safest place I know. We rode out the direct hit from Hermine a month ago altho it was only a Cat 1, but i brought the 'vette 20 miles inland to sit out the storm in my mechanics locked up service yard, high and dry. The other cars were brought only 6 miles inland. Got to save the cars.

Yeah, Hermine was thankfully a no-op. I'm on the Gulf as well and thankfully this one's going to miss this side (so far) but anyone who didn't get the hell outta Dodge on the east coast is just freekin' looney tunes.
Forcedvert, have not seen any posts from you lately hope your high and dry down there !!!!
I was very lucky, that water you see is the intercoastal and then the barrier island accross .... Nothing to block wind and all I lost was about thirty shingles and lots of erosion on the river side. That and some yard clean up is all.
I count myself very lucky!
