I love Michigan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
I will not lie, there are many times I hate Florida, this was one of them, and every 98* day with 90% humidity. Then there is the lack of any seasons but summer and spring. I often think of moving just far enough north to get some kind of fall and winter or all the way back to my childhood home of the Pacific Northwest.

After Army, left my home state of Michigan in 1969 and moved to Florida. Loved every day. Heat/humidity does not bother me. After 8 years, left Florida for job opportunity. Always thought that I would return when I retired. Well, not so. Little did I know that wife hated the 8 years we were in Florida and there was no way she would return even on vacation. So, here I am stuck in a MD. But weather not as bad as Michigan's Winter. Look on the positive side.

I am looking to move out of E. Texas to a cooler and milder four season area. Looking really hard at Bristol Tennessee. Low cost of living, no income tax state, nice distinct but generally mild four season climate. Seems to be a good spot for car guys. Highly recommended by folks I know that live in that general area. In the northwest I love Coure D'Alene Idaho. Gorgeous small city on the shore of a beautiful lake, also on my list but my gal isn't that keen on going that far north. Anyway, just a few thoughts on escaping the heat/humidity thing. Best wishes!

We rent cabins in north Ga. Its a nice compromise because we can drive and take our dogs. But nothing beats the PNW it has everything I like ..... Mountains, coastal water, great seafood and somewhat mild winter as compaired to the midwesst or even the north east.
It was nice to be able to go out doors and have fresh air.
The hurricane makes you appreciate what the Good lord blessed you with.
Nothing is taken for granted.
