The early C4 digital instrument panel comes to mind.

If ones looking for a rare collector something dont bother with most newer than 72.

At a point all cars will be electric
Germany I hear passed some deal where by 2020 all gas vehicles will beoutlawed so enjoy the last of the HP wars and quit worrying about the "next guy"...he may just want yours for the shell to stick an electric motor in. Times are a changing.

^Germany will do away with all gas vehicles in three years?
That is a very short period of time for such a changeover.

So if you buy a Mercedes next year It will be useless two years later in Germany?

Maybe I'm in the minority here but I prefer my C5 to any C7. I sat in C5, C6, and C7 and went with the C5 mostly because it was the only one I fit in. The timeless styling has really grown on me though, whereas I feel like the C7 is too boy racer and "look at me" for me.

The young kids in by area like my C5 which says to me that it isn't going out of style anytime soon. Round styling may even come back.

your not going to get much argument here, after all I think it's why we all have C 5's !!! (at least me)

There was a guy at the gas station I was talking to who just picked up a C5. He was 23, just finished school and landed a solid job here in town. Rather than get an STi or some other NEW car, he found a base C5 with a TON of mods (supercharger, upgraded clutch, C6Z brakes) that only had 18k miles on it. He said he paid $16k for it and was having fun crushing all his friends in it. He said it was as close to a brand new car a 10 year old car could be.

I know the C5 ages better than the C4 does.

Been thinking seriously about a restomod to avoid all the non repairable electronics. Maybe an early '70's Camaro or a '78 Firebird - gotta be black and gold with the chicken on the hood. Also been looking at pricing on Cobra reps.

The electronics on the C5 isn't that bad. I have had most of the problems and they were not too difficult to fix using advice from this forum. I purchased a few extra parts as insurance while there is plenty of good salvage.

2016 production was 40,689. Highest # since the 70's.

I have seen up to 12% off on in-stock in Dec.
20% in Sep on all 2016 in-stock.

Right now as much as 12% on 2017 GS

No matter how big your house is...how recent your car is...how big your bank act is...our graves will be the same size.

Stay humble.
