Coolant reservoir was about an inch low 8 weeks ago - refilled to top. Noticed a very small drip on garage floor every week or two - tiny. Very small and red so I assumed it was coolant. Coolant LOW light came on again two days ago. Reservoir was 1 inch low again. Refilled yesterday. Today, look at reservoir and about 1/4 - 1/2 inch low. When I parked it yesterday (after I got back home) there were 5-6 drops of what definitely appear to be OIL , not coolant like I was expecting.
Any theories? I will definitely take to my tech this week. Pretty sure I could smell oil when parked at work yesterday after 30 minute drive. Punched the accelerator pretty good a couple of times on the way.

the T-Connector has broke on me while 100 miles away from home and had to swap it out on the road.
T- connector broke and was stuck on the hose. Look for any leaks around the coolant tank and whip with a white paper towel, it will show the ornage color on it.

Okay, so yeah, the surge tank coolant surge tank is leaking and I am replacing.
The OIL that is dripping is from the main rear seal. Yeah, that sucks. Let me ask you guys: I have had vehicles with a rear main seal leak that wasn't replaced for over ten years - couple of drops of oil after each drive. I have also replaced rear main seals only to have ANOTHER seal go. Right now the rear main seal is the weakest link. If it continues to be a minor drip, and I do not replace seal for God knows how long, are there any other concerns? It is an automatic.

Next oil change switch to Mobil 1 High Mileage oil. It has seal conditioners that might just reduce the leak. Costs nothing to switch and worth a shot.

and besides it has better contents of zinc and phosphorus.

Thanks for the heads-up, guys...I'll try that oil. Now, if I could just get under the car
What do you guys think of this response that was posted by Mobil 1?
"Thank you for your feedback. Our Mobil 1 High Mileage 5W-20 contains seal conditioners to help reduce leaks; however we have seen situations where the cleaning power of Mobil 1 removed sludge from engines which had been preventing leaks. With the sludge gone, more leakage was seen. Also, 5W-20 is a relatively low viscosity oil. Depending on your vehicle a higher viscosity oil could help."

If you have been taking care of your car and changed oil with high quality synthetic oil at regular intervals there should be very little sludge in your engine. You should be using 5W30 in your Corvette.
Are you sure it is your Rear Main Seal? I had two professional mechanics tell me my real main seal had blown, but when I started looking into it myself, turned out it was a slow leak from my Oil Pressure Sensor. It looked just like oil coming from the bell housing. Might be worth a check!

Yeah, I'll double check. Interesting thing is I had the oil pressure sensor changed about six weeks before this started from the SAME dealer that now says I have rear seal and oil pan seal leaks. This is Gordon Chevrolet on Blanding in Jacksonville.
