I think for a lot of C7 owners this is their first Vette. Even driving in the DC 'burbs, I encounter very few of them (they all drive Beemers and Benzes - badly), but never get a wave or a return. Other C5 drivers usually will wave or respond, as will many C4 and C6 drivers.
I ALWAYS wave to my fellow Vette drivers - I don't care what color, what year, what condition, or who's driving - if you're in a Vette - I consider you a brother/sister of mine...period.
Its sad that in today's world that most folks don't wave back. Its the same mentality with holding doors for folks. I was raised to ALWAYS hold a door for a lady - (not picking on woman here) but I maybe get a "thank you" 50% of the time...where when I was growing up and my father would hold a door for a woman, they always said thank you!
A lot of women now consider a man being polite to them as somehow demeaning, or worse, a come on. Older women were brought up with men holding doors open for them, etc., and appreciate the gesture.
What can you do driving a C-5.And give the wave to a C-6 or C-7 and don't get a wave back
Because we have an older Vette. I have already found a C-6 owner that said I should get a C-6 real snobby. Then I asked him about a C-7 and he said he didn't like them' So Thats how it is

I always wave sometimes they don't see it because of my dark tinted windows and maybe I don't see them wave for the same reason too, but usually if we see each other we both wave. I get responses about 90% of the time from all corvette drivers. I think its cool that all of us corvette owners/drivers have that respect for each other.
Just wondering how many of us in the Corvette family, gives a wave, thumbs up or an approving nod when passing/encountering another Corvette? I always do and always get a reply whether I start it or not.
It is like the Harley or air cooled VW crowd. Did not know this till I bought one. Love this and alway wave or do the headlight wave.
Gotta have a love for these cars. So many people want one but for whatever reason they don't buy them fear them looking outrageous or I get man that had to cost a lot. I tell them 16K and with 42k when I bought it. 97 so seals (Slave Cylinder, Clutch the crap blocker rings will have me at about 18k in it. But 65k on it now. What car can you buy for 18k? Fiat? Not me! C5 and newer are great daily cars. Storage like a little pickup in the Coupe and 32 mpg on the highway? Sounds like an econo SUV?

Once at the library I held the door for a woman (same if it were a man). She looks at me and utters "I am big enough to hold my own door" I think to myself. "self, thank God I am not married to that"
Looks like this thrend has raised the question Who drives Corvette's? I see 50-50 and of course those times when the other guy doesn't see you. We being people who are on the forum typing away spending precious time talking about our Corvette's. We love our cars be it a little or a lot! Chances are if we enjoy this we would love a wave from another Corvette owner.
