Today marks 2 great years I've spent with this car. The column lock fiasco was the only problem I experienced with it. Background: Z16 [#1637] purchased with 92,000 one owner miles, currently has 159,788 miles. Still runs and drives like a new car. I did add a C6 shifter, and new Conti DWS's up front and I'm a stickler for routine maintenance. I would absolutely recommend a C5 to anyone looking to get into one. Good job GM!
I also just reached the two year anniversary for my C5. Bought it with 71,000 miles, put about 12,000 on it (drove it a lot more than just weekends - couldn't resist), and the fun never fades.
For anyone thinking about picking up a C5, I highly recommend it. I looked at many different options before deciding this was the right car for me. So much enjoyment, rock solid engine, faster than I'll ever need it to be, and a timeless style that still turns heads, and looks contemporary after 20 years.
