I have black rear mud guards on my coupe. I purchased them through MidAmerica about 10 years ago. They have stopped a lot of road rash on the back of the car and due to the black color blends in with the wheel wells.

I also had them on the front but had constant problems with speed bumps and high centering. I removed the front ones and replaced with the clear bra type stuff.

Many will tell you they don't like the look but on the rear only, the black ones do not bother me. For me it's a better solution than road rash. If I had the decision to do again I would probably just do the clear bra on both front and rear. Hope this helps.

I went with the Lewis5 splash guards and am very happy with them. If you buy them, when installing them, lightly screw in the lower screws (just to hold the bottom in place), then press the tip into place with adhesive, then screw the bottom down. If you screw the bottom down and then try to bend the tip up to the fender, it will crack (ask me how I know ).
