I have a 2002 stock C5 with a Corsa xtreme axleback exhaust, and I'm considering getting one this upcoming spring, I'm thinking on a LG super long tube headers with x pipe catted, I'm keeping the car naturally aspirated, how would it sound, what should I expect? And will the extreme's be to loud with it, I love a loud muscle car sound. I would hate to get it and not be happy with the system.Your thoughts thanks
It will definitely sound stronger thus better. You can't miss adding long tubes. On another note you should pick up a better air intake, Airaid, Blackwing etc. Stock airbox is restrictive and more air in more air out is best. JMO

I will definitely get a air intake later, and possibly a tune. Thanks

Good choice in LT headers and yes, it should sound really good with the Extremes on the car. Should be louder for sure. Get a tune also to take advantage of the mod.

I have a completely stock 2000 C5. My Corsa Xtreme is being installed next week. Like you, I am doing long tube headers in a few months. In the meantime, what do you think of the Corsa Xtreme on an otherwise stock car with the stock H-pipe? How is the idle compared to stock and how is WOT compared to stock? I have heard the Xtreme many times, but not on an otherwise completely stock car. I'm hoping I won't be disappointed until I get the long tube headers.

I'm in the same situation as the original poster (stock C5--my Corsa Xtreme is being installed next week). I definitely want a cold air intake. I keep reading that the Callaway Honker is by far the best for the C5, and only $100-$200 more than other systems. Thoughts on whether it's worth it? Do you happen to know if the Callaway Honker requires cutting of the stock material or if it's just a simple installation without cutting? I've heard the kits that require cutting are a PITA for these cars, so just tryingvtp get some more information.
It will get louder for sure. If you're wanting muscle car, like old school sound, you're not going to get it though. You just don't get that out of an LS (block material, firing order, among other things plays into it), and the corsa's are more high pitched than most of the exhaust options out there.
I used to have a Callaway Honker, LG Super Pro's (no cats), Corsa Indy exhaust setup. Made 345/350 RWHP after an ok tune, 46 RWHP and 40 RWTQ over bone stock. Was freaking LOUD when I got on the throttle, but high pitched and kind of sounded like a motor boat at idle due to the characteristics of the Corsa exhaust. The Honker required you to cut the front shroud for installation as it's a bottom feeder air intake, but that's a very easy thing to accomplish with a dremel as it's just plastic.

it will sound badass and loud... I have xtremes on my car and have had 1 3/4 lg superpros and currently have 1 7/8 lg superperos, neither systems had cats and they sound pretty much the same... the good thing about corsa is they do a good job of keeping the interior noise down while keeping all the noise outside of the car so you can still hear the radio or have a conversation while cruising

Trust me you won't be disappointed, before I got my extremes installed I got my wife to rev up the stock C5 exhaust, sounds blah, when I got my extremes I got her to rev it up again, it sounded awesome, a night and day difference, they sound awesome, the idle sounds like a beast, trust me you won't be disappointed, and they are LOUD! But sound very good
