Live in Illinois and it requires front plate display. That completely ruins the look of the car. What are you guys using? Do the hide a plate work. Another thing, how do I change my profile pic!!!!!!!

Cali wants front plate I have never had a car with a front plate ! Click on top right where your name is go to user control panel everything is there for edit
Wisconsin requires a front plate, but for the last 20 years I have never had one on my C3 or my C5. I have been pulled over several times for speeding and they never mention the lack of a front plate. Always just got a warning for the speed, too. Wisconsin cops seem to like Corvettes.
I had a powered retractable plate frame (Show N Go) on a Mustang- after a year, the cables screwed up, unit was ruined. I wrote them, wrote the retailer I bought from- no answer.
On my 'Vette, I run no plate. No problem (Ohio) but I have only run w/o for about 15 months, never been stopped. If I did, I would just ask- "Officer, if I had a perfect face like this, I would never put a plate under my nose, either." Hope that he has a good sense of humor.

I agree that the cars look much better without the front plate. We have a state police headquarters here in my hometown. I gave up a long time ago trying to run just a rear plate on my Corvettes. It was just too much hassle trying to avoid getting tickets. I have had Corvettes since 1969.
I just put both plates on and go drive the cars.
My Nephew has one of the manual hide a plate units and it works ok.
Virginia is a two plate state but I do not run one on my car. I have paid one ticket for no plate, but it actually got me out of a speeding ticket, so I was ok with that. I will continue to run sans plate and just pay any fine I might incur.

You are lucky you don't live around here. They would write you up tickets for speeding, front plate violation, and probably write you up for 1-2 other violations they would find. When I went to court for my last ticket (found not guilty but still had to take a day off from work), I was talking to others who received multiple tickets after being pulled for petty violations. I love the cash grab.

I have found if I am polite and don't dispute the cop, they let me off. I haven't got a ticket since 1979 and I have been pulled over a lot. I can not complain about Wisconsin cops.

I have been pulled over several times. I have never received a citation from the Philadelphia PD despite being pulled over by them several times (some of the friendliest and most professional officers I've interacted with). The suburbs are a different story around here. They would write up your 92 year old grandmother for 4 violations driving home from Sunday church. It's a total cash grab in this area. Mandatory donations for using the road regardless of how, what, or when you drive.

Missouri requires both plates and I had a stock license plate surround painted the body color for use on the car. Not as good as using the license plate cover but it makes the use of a front plate more tolerable.
Colorado also requires a front plate. I just ignore it. I've been stopped a couple times in the time I've owned the car, and the lack of the front plate was never an issue. I'll be that if I was a dick to the officer, it would have been, but otherwise nobody seems to care.
I haven't had an issue regarding the front plate on all 3 of my cars (knock on wood). I do know someone who was ticketed for no front plate on their C6 however.
It looks much better on the C5 if you have the trim ring for the license plate versus without.
... Just be glad you don't have an ugly plate bracket like the C6.
