I too had a small block C3. It is a night and day difference. But it retains the Corvette look and feel. The first time I sat in a C5 it reminded me of my old C3. When I sat in a C7, it seemed more different from a C5 than the C5 from a C3.
Since its a manual, find out from the previous owner if he installed the column lock LMC5 bypass fix. If not that would be the first thing to do. Then get a skip shift bypass for defeating the annoying 1-4 shift lockout.
I've had our '03 manual vert for almost 10yr and its been best car ever owned as far as problems. We are just now turning 50K mi, and still on original brake pads/rotors
I'm really impressed with this car. It's definitely a drivers car. I'm getting the "Service Column Lock" warning every time it starts up, although the column never locks, even when the car is off. I've read about the workaround on here, and when I asked the previous owner he had no idea. But, he was the second owner. I had our Chevy store pull up the service records, and it was in for the Op code V1145, "04006- Perform reprogram and functional test- Manuals only". It was also in for the steering wheel rotation sensor (replaced). We've got a "Corvette" specialist at our Chevy service. I need to get in to talk to him about it.
I took this while it was being checked out after we took it in. Clean. I got a great deal, and couldn't pass it up. I didn't really have any intention of getting another Vette, but I'm so glad I did. Love this car.
Is the lift lifting the Vette on the jacking pucks? Can't really tell form that pic.
P.S. I'm sure they know what they are doing.

Even if it's been in for the recall it can go bad....ask me how I know.
Do the brown wire also, and warning should disappear.
Wow! Terrific find, gorgeous C5. I know its already been mentioned by a few forum members above but I have to say I've never seen that exterior paint color with the red/black interior, its got to be super rare. After looking at the photo a few minutes I went to the "that is damn cool" line of thinking! Well, good luck with her and best wishes, you knocked it out of the park on that buy!
I worked at a dealership when I was in my early 20's and that was one of the perks was getting dibs on your own trade in's, you definitely were smart to grab this one, it's a beautiful car, congratulations
