Hey guys! My wife and I are going on our first fun-run with our local Corvette club tomorrow. I'm pumped! We'll be running the beautiful scenic 7, 69, and 10 highways in Arkansas. I'm sure it's mostly common sense stuff, but I don't like embarrassing myself...so, any quick pointers on etiquette during fun-runs? I would guess there will be 30-40 cars or so. Y'all have a great weekend!
Hope your having a great time, late fall is a great time for a fun run. Please post back about your experience. As I said hope your was great. However my own has been with a group as large as you say, 30-40 cars, there always seems to be a "johnny racer" or two who just can't stay off the go pedal. Kind of ruins a pleasant cruise, at least for me. Yeah I'm older but have always thought the track is the place to show how super powerful your car (and you) are, not a fun run.
You might want to ask the club tour leader if you can be placed somewhere in the middle of the group so that you don't get lost. Given the number of cars, will there be multiple groups? Going thru any city streets can be a PITA if there are traffic lights.
Larger tour groups may use some sort of radios so that key vehicles can be in communication Portable VHF handhelds and even CB radios are pretty common.
In any event, try to keep up with the group but without speeding too fast. Once you get to the destination, you may have to wait in a line to get parked (assuming all of the cars will be parked together) so just be calm and wait for your turn. Most tour groups will have the cars backed in but there should be a few people helping to guide you in.
Bring a camera, take pics and post them!! And have fun
All well organized events should have a driver's meeting before everyone hits the road.
If you are unsure if this is taking place, speak to to the event coordinator. I'm sure he or she would find the idea very useful in both promotion of leadership and making sure everyone has a safe responsible time. They'll go over any said rules and edicate then.

+1 on making sure you are filled up with gas. I can't count how many times I've gone to larger meets and 10+ cars need fuel before we can even leave the parking lot. Now if I organize, we meet AT a larger gas station where there is parking overflow.
