Took the garage queen out this morning for a drive and heard something hit the windshield -- thought it was a rock (no other cars around for miles!) but when I got home noticed my checkered flag was missing from my front emblem! So I evidently didn't win the race!
Can anyone here in the C5 world help me out on where to get a replacement checkered flag insert for my front emblem??
I borrowed this pic to show what I'm looking for: Thanks!!!
Why not hot glue it back? Just clean up the one you have.
I used the photo from another member as an illustration -- my checkered flag emblem is somewhere on the highway!
I see the ones advertised with the American flag and the checkered flag but cannot determine if these fit over the existing OEM ones or do you remove the OEM's and glue them in....... Any help or insight is appreciated.
My rear deck emblem melted in the garage.I guess it couldn't the Florida sun and the garage door being dark brown did not help.
Its the least of my worry's' It did bother me at first.

Short of someone having a spare, used emblem that they are willing to part with, you may have to buy a new one. You may also try one of the used parts vendors, tell them exactly what you need, and see if they can help.
And from what I can tell, the aftermarket ines you see are simply an overlay to the factory insert.
The flag ones from RPI Designs are the domed ones like you're looking for. I have them on front and back and they've stayed for a few years now.
COOL!! Did you take the original ones off first to put these on??
The description did say they were "gelled" so these are more than just stickers. I was hoping that for $30 I would get more then a glorified sticker......
[QUOTE=grampi50;1593512935]Are they serious? $86 for a piece of plastic? They've got to be smokin some good chit![/QUOT
the Corvette tax a lot. For some parts it is a matter of the volume produced vs. the costs of production. In the 50's GM used the same ashtray in every car they produced, thus reducing tooling, distribution, and design costs to nil per unit. Our cars are more limited in producton and more rare , so a lot of costs can be attributed to that factor and supply vs. demand,. Of course, greed can get in there, too. Just some perspective.

The ones with the US flag are not overlays, they replace the originals.
