Now that my clutch break in period is over and I'm winding my RPMs up a bit more I'm starting to notice the factory titanium exhaust on my C5Z makes some nice pops if I leave it in gear and let the engine backpressure slow the car down. I love this sound, but I'd love to make it even more frequent and louder. What aftermarket exhausts will increase this popping without me needing to change anything under the hood? Planning to leave my Z mostly stock, but am considering changing up the exhaust to something a bit more aggressive (but not full bore stupidly loud, I do still want to be able to be stealthy - as stealthy as a millennium yellow C5Z can be )
Corsa Pace Car exhaust sounds great and has the snap, crackle, pop you asked about.

My Corsa Indy Pace Car exhaust has absolutely no popping at all when letting off the gas. I did have a set of B&B Route 66 on a previous C5 and that system had a lot of popping as well as drone, up until I put an X-pipe on the car.
My corsa xtreme catback popped and crackled nicely on deceleration with the corsa x pipe and standard exhaust manifolds. Once I put long tube headers and the corresponding x pipe, along with de-catting and a different cam, the popping went away.
The crackling and backfiring is awesome. I love running through the gears with the exhaust cutouts wide open - then on decel in gear from high RPM, getting those bangs coming from under the car. Sounds like gunshots.
BB Bullets, love the sound, lots of burbling and other great noises on decel or between shifts. Perfect, in my opinion, sounds the way a performance car should! Take care!
I had no popping with stock exhaust and aftermarket cat back with a x pipe. Put in c6z06 exhaust manifolds, cats, and h pipe, now it pops like crazy. Kind off like it, but probably would drive me crazy if i drove it Every day. An x pipe would get rid of it probably. Can also be tuned out. DFCO would need to be altered in the tune. Not sure of it can be tuned in. I guess if you can tune it out, it can be tuned in.
The B&B Bullets look to be a nearly straight piped setup. I'm guessing they do drone on the highway? I like an aggressive exhaust note, but I've never owned a car that actually had one that aggressive so I'd be concerned it would get tiring after awhile.
It has a resonating hollow chamber, but otherwise yeah...straight back. I don't have any drone, even with the LG Pro Longtubes and no cats in that video. However, the BB Bullets even by themselves, are LOUD. You may get some fatigue from the high volume alone. Everyone has a different tolerance level. If this may be an issue, I'd definitely recommend finding someone local if possible for a ride along.
