I'm 38 and 250 lbs. Come call me fat or old to my face and we'll see how that goes for you.
Get fucked.
I would love to see a picture of your fat a$$ behind the wheel of your Vette.
Do they have to use a shoehorn to wedge you in and out of the car?
Obviously at that weight, your stomach must rub up against the steering wheel.
That must be a fun drive.
FWIW.... Bought mine at 29 (last year), I am 6'4" and 240 pounds and clicked off 3 miles this morning in 24 minutes. So yeah I am not as fast (or thin) as I once was, but not fat. I realized buying it that I would not be surrounded by my folks close to my age. I think it is great on here to see some of the younger guys that have them, but they just don't exist where I live.
Where I live it is predominantly 50 plus white guys driving them, but that's because I live in a predominantly white area.
And at 6'4 240, I fit fine in a C5, C1-C3 different story.
Having been fortunate to grow up in So Cal car/surf culture through the late 50's and 60's I had the opportunity to be immersed thoroughly in those fabulous car fun times which left me with a life long love of performance cars of all kinds. Been very fortunate to have had more than a few great muscle cars, some of which I now seriously regret letting go. Finally got my first vette in my 20's and have had them off and on ever since. Last time around the vette merry-go-round was a '71 ontario orange 454 4spd which falls into the seriously regret letting it go category. A number of years followed with other dalliances but C5's had caught my eye and I finally bought a 30K miles '99 6m vert after selling my long time owned 911. Ok, I'll admit I'm now in my 60's, somewhat round and have the resources to drive most remotely reasonably priced cars but my very lightly modded C5 is truly one of the most fun and satisfying performance cars I've owned, and at a bargain basement price. Most young folks hereabouts are either into tuner types or jacked up 4wd trucks and thats fine but they don't do a thing for me. So i'll stick with my V8, manual, 2 seat, slick aero type, performance jewel bestowed upon us by GM. Just my humble opinion of course! Best wishes!

You bring up a good point. I'm 6'2", myself, and back in the mid-late 70s, I probably could have afforded a Corvette, before I got married and bought a house. However, I couldn't get comfortable in a C-3, which was the current generation, for that point in my life.
When I first met my wife, in '78, she had a '76 C-3, with a '79 on order. I never really could get comfortable in either one. I always had to "slouch down" in the seat, so I could look UNDER the windshield header. That gets pretty uncomfortable, after a while......

Only quick pic I had on my phone, receiving an award...
But yeah I'm 250. No doubt I could trim down some but we aren't all meatballs. I could probably wedge a 78yr old into a car using another 78yr old, but fortunately I'm a pretty nice guy
The seats in the Vette are comfortable, and I have no problem getting in, or out of the car, but I would think the guys weighing in access of 190# or higher would have a tough time getting in or out of their Vette.
I have a next door neighbor who weighs in at around 215#, and he had a hell of a time getting in and out one day when I offered to take him to the airport.
At 60 years old, slightly over 6' and a bit over 200 lbs, I have no trouble getting into and out of my Vette. So I've been fortunate as I'm still very healthy and fit for my age, and try to remain so by staying as active as I possibly can.

I would add that it is also not particularly practical as an only car. So most young guys are going to buy something else, and those who are buying them probably can't afford a woman on top of that.

what a stupid link this is. this is supposed to be a forum where information is shared with people who like the same kind of car. who cares of the guy is 60,50 or whatever. If he is fat or skinny. the only thing that does matter is that he is not an butthole like the person who started this thread. I guess young guys dont have these cars because most cannot afford it on a walmart salary or worse yet, dont even work and daddy wont buy it for them. there are good hard working young guys that do buy these cars but most of them like beemers and ricers... coming from the zr1 forum and now belonging to this forum since I sold my 4 cam zr1 I see lots of childish posts probably due to a younger crowd. I recently acquired my 8th corvette a modded z06. it is my second time in a c5 corvette. my last c5 was a supercharged automatic 525 rwhp. lets be more constructive and help people who own cars that we like instead of destructive comments.
