Hurst Installed
I got a Hurst shifter on the cheap and installed it with the soft springs and set the stops. Unfortunately I'm having a rattling issue somewhere and I was curious to see if anyone else has had this issue. I have a ball shift **** and wrapped teflon tape on the threads of the shaft in hopes to rid the vibration but it did not. I'm thinking of taking the stops out and seeing if that gets rid of it. I did read some threads on the issue and people are saying that a mgw shift **** would rid the problem but figured I'd ask on here to see if I'd get a different answer. Thanks in advance

I got one of the first Hurst shifters that hit the market, back in '02, and promptly installed it in my '01. I never seemed to experience any "rattles", or if I have, it hasn't been all that noticeable. I used a Kirban aluminum shift ball, if that makes any difference.
A couple of years ago, I replaced the rubber bushings, that are used in the ears that mount the shifter box to the tunnel, with polyurethane bushings, and that didn't seem to make it any "noisier".....
