So my belts have a 180 turn in them, not the end of the world but the belts you mentioned would be much better. I also had to notch out the b pillar mount a little to make sure the latching mechanism was level with the ground. If its not level in can lock when you dont want and vise versa. Easy to test, just hit the brakes and the momentum ratchet in the mechanism will lock the belt. Hope this all helps other people.
I just ordered some 2005 C6 belts off ebay and I'll be attempting this install, one of these weekends. I'm in Vegas as well..

Did you get the convertible belts? They fit better.

Granted mine had the piro on them, does not matter, who cares, zip tied the wires, bolted them on
to the seat brackets appropriately and boom, done..
I did switch the rollers/retractors, buckle portion, whatever you call them from side to side, but kept
the receivers on the correct sides.
Maybe 1.5 hrs most.
my next mission is to carve up the plastic fascias,.. this could be a challenge, i am anticipating buying
another one, after I butcher up my first attempt.
Okay so - just to be clear - they DON'T need to be 2005-only belts, you just need to grind a bit to make the later ones fit?

This helps.

Seller didn't specify... But they are the straight ended (non L shaped) version.

I’m trying to fit C6 belts to my C5 Z06 - it’s a track car with harnesses and Sparco seats, but I need the 3 points for students. Mounting the reels and the upper mount is no issue, but the hole in the bottom mount is too small for the bolt (10mm hole vs. 12mm bolt) that holds the bottom mount to the body. I’ve just tried drilling the mount to enlarge the hole, but it seems to be hardened and the drill isn’t making any progress. How did you guys enlarge this hole - Dremmel or is there a better solution. I’m trying to avoid mounting the belts to the seat frame if possible.

It took me several minutes to drill each one as well... I think you just need a quality drill bit and lots of patience :/

This is a great thread and really explains a lot as I'm in the process of installing a set of C7 GT seats into my C5 convertible. As a result, I have a few questions....

1.) Do you also need to also install C6 pretensioners to the C6 belts and connect them to the aftermarket seats, or in my case, C7 GT seats? Below is a pic from my C7Z with Comp Seats that show the driver side pretensioner on the outside part of the seat for the lap belt connection as I think the C7 seats are similar to the C6 seats. Do the C6 seat belts come with these pretensioners or do you have to buy them separately? Are they easy to connect to a C7 or aftermarket seat?

2.) Since I am installing new seat belts into a C5 convertible, should I opt for C6 convertible seat belts vs. C6 coupe seat belts. Are they the same length or are the coupe seat belts longer? Any specific year as I've been able to find some from a 2013 online.

3.) Do I also need to add C6 seat belt receivers near the tunnel or can I reuse either my C5 receivers or C7 receivers that are on the donor seats?

Thanks!

You will need to use the C6 seat belt receiver. The C6 buckle is a different size and shape VS the C5 buckle even though they look similar. The C7 receiver is also a bit different, the C5 buckle fits in but does not lock solid.
They will not lock together.

I tested my C5 belts with the C7 receivers on the donor seats and they connected well. However, if I opt for the C6 belts, I wonder if the C6 belts will lock in with the C7 receivers.

I also wonder what triggers the seat belt dashboard alarm & chime if the seat belts are not connected. Will that carry over from the OEM C5 seats/belts/receivers into the new seats if I swap out the belts/receivers?

Thanks. I have set of harnesses on order from Vetteworx that allows you to plug in the OEM C7 seats into the C5 harness so that you can operate the seat controls as well as the telescoping steering wheel. The only C7 option that won't work are the seat fans. Fingers crossed they work. I'm going to test fit the C7 seats in to see if I can re-use the C5 belts, but based on this thread and other threads I've read, I will probably need to remove & modify the lower C5 belt trim and install the C6 belts if I want the C7 seats to move far enough back. Some people have been able to make the c5 seat belts work, but I'm 6'3" so I think I'm going to need the extra space to move the seat back and will need to remove the C5 belts and trim up the C5 lower B-pillar trim cover.

You will have to carve up the trim on the sill trim

The C5 buckle will fit into the C7 receiver but will pop out under moderate stress.

Bump to confirm if anyone knows how the C6 belts integrate into the C7 seat pretensioners. If you remove the C5 seat belts, the C6 seat belts need to connect to a pretensioner of some kind in order for the lap belt to work. What is the solution? Do the C6 seat belts come with the pretensioners already installed and if so, do you then install the pretensioners to the C7 seat or aftermarket seat? I'm hoping it's that easy for the C7 seats, but do aftermarket seats also come with mounting holes/tabs for pretensioners? Any pics of where the C6 belts connect are appreciated.

A bit of info I have not seen mentioned here yet - the C6 was available with optional side air bags in some configurations. It is possible that the pyrotechnic belts were in the side air bag optioned cars.
