Ok... not necessarily C5 Specific, but I am a lurker here.
Just curious how drivable the streets are in your town/area?
I have marked off about 75% of the town I live in as "C5-Undrivable" now. Pretty soon I will not be able to leave my garage as the 3rd-World keeps encroaching. It may be time to give up on West Texas, it's outrageous property taxes and getting nothing in return, but where to go? Is it this way everywhere now?

How would you rate you local streets overall?
I think everyone will say theirs are the worst in the country, but there is only one city that has that distinction, and that is Los Angeles.
They are all terrible, with a capital "T"

For the most part they are OK (average), and I've not had any problems driving my C5 on any of them. Could they be better, sure, but as with many other things these days, money is tight for road improvements.
Up here in the northeast it's a crap shoot. Each city has a reputation for good, bad, or terrible. My city is in the bad area, potholes all around and even if they get filled the next time it snows the plows and salting trucks bring them back up again. It's a never ending battle and that's why my Vette is asleep for the winter.
now we move into frost heave season up here, all the cracks and patches pop up, not that i drive my c5, but it beats your dd up. it gets so rough on some highways it will make you change lanes with your not correcting
My side of town is awesome but some of the other parts of the city have some really bad roads that are not low car friendly. Don't get me started on the construction areas that are never going to be finished, or so it seems
I have to go 250 feet on basically a dirt one lane prv. drive then fine after that. If it's dry and I come home with a hot engine with the fans on full sends dust all over the Vette, not good !!!
Highways around Boston are mostly good, with a few rough spots. Major city streets mostly good. Some trouble spots. the roads in my rural town up north are pretty good, nothing so bad as to make me reluctant to take out the Vette.

Choreo, you probably wouldn't last long up here in the Northeast. It was -8° here this morning. Needless to say, the Vette hibernates during the winter - something I wish I could do...
Southern California has the best roads since they don't get winter or much rain......LA doesn't even compare so you must be confused.

I have highways a couple hundred feet from my door that are kept in great shape. Secondary roads have a few problems from trucks cutting grooves in them but are still very drivable. Neighborhood roads are very drivable too. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
I live just a little north of South Carolina in North Carolina and the roads here for the most part are good, Now if I venture south I can tell when I'm in SC with out looking for the welcome to South Carolina sign, The roads there are horrible.
My hometown South Bay Area/San Jose is the 3rd worst city in America. Not only are the roads in poor condition, there's always street repairs that take a long time to fix and when they do... it's worse than what it was more than half of the time. 10 construction workers and only 2 of them are actually working.
I'm pretty sure that list doesn't count the ladders, small dressers, pieces of wood, metal junk and recyclables you have to dodge on the freeways.
