Default Phase 2 - Planning

A little back ground:

2003 A4 - so far I have just done the normal bolt ons.
Intake
1 7/8 ARH Headers No Cats
Borja Exhaust.
Tuned

The work will be done by Corey Henderson

I get to do 1 phase a year typically with a budget of 5-6k

End Goal will eventually supercharge down the road looking to max out at 600 to the wheels.

For phase 2 I was originally planning to do heads and cam but after thinking and reading and more reading I'm thinking of going a different route.

Instead of Heads and cam for phase 2 I was thinking of going a different route for this phase and do the following:

RPM Level 6 Transmission
Transmission cooler
3200 Stall prolly go with yank
3.42 or 3.73 gears

Will going this route cause any driveablitity issues. I put about a thousand miles a month on it half the month it's my daily driver. Have yet to put it on the track but I do drive the hell out of it.

My thought process is going this route is I can get a little more wild with the heads and cam when I get to phase 3.

Any advice/ ideas are welcome.

Phase 2 should be supercharger you will hit 600 with a decent sized pulley

......that's what I was thinking when reading your post...why not go ahead and supercharge now and enjoy...you can do more on the next phase. (s/c, alky/meth, injectors/fuel pump, boost a pump and tune).

I don't know that you'd really need a torque converter without a cam, and if you plan on supercharging for sure then don't go any higher than 3.42 gears. Maybe some suspension upgrades instead of converter.
