not sure why no one mentioned but the 02 is still the lower power z06 which makes that price more understandable
Yes but with intake and exhaust that difference is eliminated. The 02's also have the potential valve spring issue which yes is cheap to fix, but I just didn't want that hanging over my head, personally. In that I wouldn't want to drive it even a mile knowing what could happen with those yellow springs.

yeah its not that big of a deal but in the used market it drives the price down. Why buy an 02 when you get 20 more hp in the 03? The answer would be because the 02 is cheaper!
Point taken, and to your point I did see evidence of this in my research (that '01's were cheaper than I thought they would be vs '02's)
Was going to put $10,000 down. I don't have a issue with the price. Just a issue with the $695 dealer fee. I think the dealers should just ad it to the price they advertise it at. Guess I'm just getting old and cranky
Could someone explain "dealer fee".. I am not familiar with the term. Don't think we have that in WI or MN per se although it might be hidden somewhere in the asking price. Thanks

Its the fee the dealer collects to do all your document and title work - bill of sale, power of attorney, registration, etc. It varies by most states, and is largely an up-charge and non-negotiable. Did I mention that I hate the dealership experience?
If a dealer advertises "no dealer fee", then it is baked into the sale price.

Went to the local Chevy dealer about 3 weeks ago for wife to get a new car. Was the typical horrible experience.
We went to the Dodge dealer on New Years day and it was actually not bad at all. Only one trip back to the manager and deal was done. Was very surprised wasn't a bad experience at all.
To bad I can't afford a new Hell Cat Challenger or I would be back their.

Ok. Got it. If they do that here they have it hidden pretty good except for sales tax, title, and registration. That's all listed right on the sales form submitted to the state. Sales tax varies with price, of course (5.5%). Title and registration are fixed depending on type of vehicle, and gross weight if truck.
would not buy it for resale reasons. that is the hardest color combo to sell . it's priced fair but you will also have the spring change to do, all fluids, some hoses and possibly shocks and front brakes to do
if you like the color and there is no rust on the car it is priced correctly but man...it will be a rough sell. this is probably why a dealer is selling the car at private party prices

It would really be interesting to see the statistical analysis that was done to see how you decided it would be the most difficult color combination to sell.

Cause its yellow on red on black? The mod red on yellow really ruins the look.
Of course it's subjective however the vast majority would agree that it is not a great color combo.
We are right back to what is simply your opinion. You don't like it and that is cool. Your opinion has nothing to do with value, ability to resell, or what the majority think. Everybody thought the white/red cove '55 Vette was the cat's meow. Try buying one of the 15 copper ones they built that people said ruined the look.

Right but I'm not alone in my opinion; what's the percentage of people who are turned off by the yellow/black/red? Can't say for sure but enough that it is the least desirable color combo.
Maybe because someone said its the McDonald's Corvette and I can't get that out of my head. Either way, it's your car and as long as you enjoy it.
this is not accurate. most of these changes happened to the 02 car. shock valving changed every year from 01 to 04 and kept getting better. the engine was updated in 02 and carried to 04 with only a pcv change happening. there may have been minor ecu revisions but the 02 and 04 are not that far apart. the 01 is the oddball car in the lineup and even it is a great car, it just isn't as good as the newer ones which improved on its shortcomings

i've watched these cars sell since they released, driven many, owned one, have friends who are dealers. we chat
blue is probably the easiest color to sell
yellow/red would be the hardest. smallest pool of buyers who like that color vs all the other options
look at this thread...see the comments already about the color? you never see this about any other color
even silver which is also a historically a low close color. blue on the flip side is the highest
