Tried pulling codes this PM and i can't get past my low tire pressure message. Do I have to fill the tire up AND drive the car to clear this ?
If i follow the typical system ie: turn key, reset, hold options, press fuel X4 the computer tries to get me to reconfigure my options, but does not allow me to see codes. Where have I gone wrong ?
It sounds like you are following the correct directions. When pressing the fuel button, make sure you are making a deliberate action to depress the button. If you press too rapidly, the computer will not recognize what you are doing.
When you are getting low tire pressure, message, you probably cannot access the DIC. Mine did the same thing and until I filled up the tires and drove a quarter mile, it was nope nada.
Total failure. I followed the right steps (after finally clearing my low tire pressure message) and still cannot access the codes. After I press and hold the options button, for as long as 30 seconds, and then move on to the fuel button ALL I get are fuel related messages, one for each push !
Any C5 owner within 50 miles of Pittsfield Ma., I will bring the car to you to let you show me how to do this , first hand. (weather permitting). Bob

Do that: Hold options button in while deliberately pushing fuel 4 x.
Yesterday I drew a blank when trying to pull the codes. Today I gave it a shot after a couple hours at the gym and it worked, the first time. Didn't do anything different than the last 25 tries, go figure.
Anyway it took me so by surprise I had nothing to write on or with. There were a dozen codes or so but all were "history" probably related to my dead battery last week or from when I disconnected my F55 suspension.
I cleared them all and will start with a clean slate on the next NICE snow less day. I do still have the check engine light on, if I have no new codes after the next drive how do I get rid of that light ?
