Default C5 Driver's Seat-Back failure...

Hit a bump, felt the right-side of my (driver's) seat-back "pop" and fall back about an inch. It no longer sits straight...
Looking for directions, advice or recommendations on what my options are for a possible "fix".

Problem was resolved by going thru the procedure to re-set the cables. Thanks!

Assuming your seats are the 50th anniversary color, your best bet will likely be to pick up a used back from some one that recycles damaged Vettes. (Marc @ Vettenauts or John Llewellyn 865-604-0497)... You can find someone, (or do it yourself) to remove the cover from your present seat and reapply it on the used back. It really isn't difficult to do.
There are people that make new leather seat covers for the C-5, but the color you'll need might no be available.

Both John and Marc can talk you through the procedure.

Before I spent that kind of money I would try to fix the problem. I believe there is a process to make the two sides even. If memory serves you move the seat all the way forward and release the seat back and pull upwards. Do a search on this forum I'm sure there is a thread that addresses this. Good luck.

Try this thread and see if it helps. I had this problem myself, also would pop and fall back under hard acceleration. I finally got fed up with the stock seats and replaced them with Corbeau Evolution X's.

Posts 6 & 7 seem to be most pertinent.

I read this different from everyone else, did it pop at the base or the bolster? If it's the bolster then you may have broken the seat back. There's fixes for this...

Anything can be fixed... if the frame is broken it can be removed and taken to a weld shop, If the fiberglass is broken, it can be fixed with fiberglass matt and resin, If its the two pin mechanism ( the most common problem, just pull up on the side lever while standing out side the car , and the back side should pop back in place.. those pins, one on each side are short and over time, they do wear.

Your problem is one side. That means it's the pins that control the seat back tilt ( lever on the side of the lower seat cushion..looks like a dog leg. There is a pin on either side og the seat back. This pin fits into the seat back frame. Over time this pin engagement can jump out of the frame slot, sometimes if you push back hard on the seat back, or if you hit a bump causing one of the pins to disengage causing one side of the set back yo drop back an inch. Follow my stand outside the car and pull up on the lever on the side of the lower seat cushion.
