Default How much pop?

Can someone take a pic of their trunk lid to show how much it pops up when activated. Not sure if my hydrolic arms are worn out. The lid stays up when raised about 80% but doesn't continue by its self to full open.
Also not sure how far up my waterfall can be and hold its self up. I have to raise it until it stops.
Thanks for any post

Trunk lid pops up about 2", when raised will stay in the open position until closed. When the button is hit to stow the top, releases but goes no further until manually lifted. Take care!

The Hatch, ( Lid ) is not designed to raise on it's own.
The two latches are spring loaded so when the latches disengage, the hatch [ lid] pops up, so you can lift it by hand. The hydraulic cylinders do not have anything to do with the initial pop up function, and are only designed to hold the hatch open after you manually lift it.

mine pops up about 1/4" maybe 1/2". I usually pop it and make shut my driver door as I go to open it. The pressure from the door close pops it up higher to grab it. That is, if you are talking about a FRC.

They sell springs that you can put on the trunk latch mechanism to help pop the trunk open further when you hit the button, FWIW. I put one on and now my trunk pops over an inch when I hit the button. Before the spring, I would close the door to help pop it open further like someone else said. But, that isn't always an answer if you want to leave your door open for some reason..

A lot of the vendors have them. I'm not sure what the policy is for posting links. But, a quick google of "c5 trunk spring" brought up quite a few results. I'd recommend shopping around a bit, as some definitely have the "corvette tax" priced in. It's just a spring and plastic bumper.. Could probably buy the parts at a hardware store for a couple bucks..

mine just pops up a 1/4 inch or so.. I can either grab it if I'm lucky or I just open and close drivers door and the trunk lid pops up another 2" or so.

Easy enough to make one.... a HD compression spring 1.25 x .750 and two flat washers 1.25 in diameter and some JB weld,, cost about 5 dollars.

Mine pops enough to put your thumbs in and lift it up the rest of the way, I have fat fingers so maybe 3/4 of an inch. its almost violent the way it pops you would think you hit it with a hammer.

I have a coupe and a Z06, the coupe's hatch actually bounces because it pops up so strong.. it almost makes your ears pop sitting in the car.
The Z06 on the other hand is absolutely pitiful, you can barely tell anything has even happened unless a door is shut. I'll definitely be trying the spring Evil-Twin posted the link to.

I agreed with the Z brothers, you can't tell when our lids are open, I installed the suggested spring and couldn't be happier.

These work great.
Why not simply go to Home Depot and buy such a spring? That's what I did, it cost about 10 cents.
About a 5/8 inch coil 1.5-2.0 inches long.
