I have a 99 c5 vette cam, stall ,headers car made 350whp .. I want to race this car at the track and I took it out for the first time. Very disappointed I bought the car with these mods and did a few myself I was told that the traction controlled was deleted or disabled and when I push the button nothing happens at all.. tried to warm up the tires and it only goes up to 2k and loses power or sets the rear brakes .. so I tried to launch it from the start using the brake and nothing still wouldn't take off hard I'm kinda frustrated wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. Also no wheen spin punching it at even 10 MPH? I was told it had to do with the ebcm restarting the timing and setting the rear brakes ?? What can I do to fix this track use and maybe a few runs on the street every now and then ..
I'd try to get the car to an experienced tuner to take a look at what's going on. I never heard of this. I was going to say it sounds like you have a catalytic converter issue but I don't know what the brakes would have to do with it. Torque management is disabled on my car and I don't have any of the issues you speak of. In fact, the car was much stronger. Do you have any codes?

If you push the traction control button and the DIC does not give a message that traction control is off, something is not working right. May want to get that checked out.
Before staging, turn off traction control roll through the water box. Then hammer down, you should have no problem lighting up the tires.at the tree, stage your front tires early.( dust as the second stage light turns yellow) this compensates, for slow reaction time. Your time SHOULD improve.keep practicing. I hope that helps.as far as dry burnouts? Mine does the same thing.
The car is tuned and when I push the t/c button nothing happens at all no messages . Could I start pulling abs fuses and will that stop the ebcm ? If I do that and notice a change then Ill take it back to my tuner and have his see what's going on??

might stop the brakes but not the engine controls.

Both your traction control and your active handling (brakes) are on. If you try to launch a C5 without disabling traction control then the car often completely locks up the rear end in response, and it gets worse as you add power. So that's what you're experiencing, and you were lied to by the person who you bought the car from unfortunately.
If you're planning to race the car, install coilovers before you do anything else, and get a good system, don't cheap out, consider Penskes and other race worthy brands. The better your suspension is, and the stickier your tires, the more power you can actually put down. So whether you're drag racing or track racing having the correct suspension for your application will make an enormous difference.
And yeah you're probably going to want to delete the traction control yourself, which just involves talking to a tuner who can work on your ECU and effectively disabling it, by giving it crazy high tolerances. Once the traction control and active handling are gone, work on your suspension, you wont regret it!
Pull the panel that has the traction control button and see if it is plugged in. The previous owner may have unplugged it thinking that disabled it. Also check you codes as previously mentioned.

With traction control on, mine gets up to 2k and kind of stutters and what not. With traction control off, I get a message that says traction control disabled. I'd go out and try an emergency stop and see what happens.
Another thing, you might need to install a higher stall torque converter in order to get higher on the power band for a better launch.
So I know I need suspension etc just trying to get this so I can do a burnout and launch I have a Hughes 3k stall converter. So that should be good enough I also have pulled the 2 maxi fuses and the trans abs fuse and the switching cab is plugged in still nothing tried to burn out and it went to 2k and bogged real hard then look off service abs and all them messages come up so I have a clutch it might of been tuned out could I Unplug the big connector on the ebcm would that do anything??
The only suggestion I have, would be to take it to a tuner to see what's going on. Your torque converter should flash anywhere from 2800 to 3200 rpm, so I think you should be able to just romp on the gas and light 'em up if no traction control.
