It is not just this sale where C5's are starting to bring money. There were some big prices in Kissimmee for the Mecum sale. A 2004 Z06 with 1500 miles brought $39,000 which the seller turned down. Was looking for $45,000. This is why the article was written and may well become the new reality.

I'm glad to see the C-5 bringing big money about time and the 04 Z-16 @$45,000 great someone knows what these Corvettes can do ,out of the box hot rod, I have one yea..
Amazing isn't it? In 1970 while stationed at Ft Rucker Alabama I bought a forest green VW bug, brand new, off the dealers lot. Thought I was really doing well, this one even had a gas guage . I still recall the exact price on that bug, $1839.00. Commonly see nice bug examples around 15k and north of that. I don't know if you have seen the prices on the earlier VW buses, especially the split window/21 window versions. I've seen them approaching and sometimes over the 100K mark! At our last all make cruise in there was a guy selling a run of the mill bus, complete but an awful lot of rust, really a hatchet job, he was asking for the bargain basement price of 28K, and he had a lot of interest. Who woulda thunk! Its amazing sometimes what will capture the car buying crowds interest and what they will pay. Best wishes!

Back in the mid 80s had 3 at one time I lived on the Gulf Cost and we would drive to the beach in one of them with all our beach stuff was fun ride . I had one with all the windows in it a one with no windows in it and a reg. one ,I gave like $350.00 for one and $500.00 for the windows one were all nice and ran good .. $28,000 WOW..
Here's another C5 I'm eager to see cross the block later this week. It's a red 1999 coupe with 5,400 miles. The info sheet says it is all original. Correct me if I am wrong, but those exhaust tips look a little big to be original.
A good friend of mine his father owned that dealership years ago it was called Dickerson Chevrolet before it was Cache River Chevrolet.
I tried selling my 650whp Mallett Z06 at Mecum Chicago in 2015 and it struggled to bring 27k. And it was a 13,000 mile car with 60k of upgrades! needless to say I took it back home with with me! Ended up selling it private party last summer for 35K
