Saw $67k on the telecast? Either way that is pretty crazy. On the other hand it is a one of one car. Last Z06 of the body style that brought back the historic Z06 option so it makes some sense. Especially if the car was in excellent shape.
Hey HARLEY6, did you happen to see how many miles on the Lemans Commemorative Z06.
There was nothing on the information sheet noting miles. I can only assume the miles weren't ultra low or it would have been mentioned. It was billed as last Z06 of the C5 generation. Extremely nice car. It was one of several cars being sold by Mid America Motorworks.

I'd take it...but slightly less than $70k-plus.
In 2010, already in the collection, it had 4,600 miles on it.

Actually its not all that close. If you figure around a 12-15% loss for a manual and a 18% or so loss for an auto, then the base manual C5 would get around 300-310 rwhp figure stock and the A4 a little less.
Still, it's pretty bad that the people covering the auction can't get it right.

The HP they got wrong was for a car they weren't auctioning. They cant know HP for every car. I guess if they're going to discuss the base model they could have done their homework.
Super knowledgeable people with one of the guys that can be blindfolded and still tell you make, model and year by feeling the front end. To know every HP rating of every car would be imposssible.

I spent a good portion of yesterday watching the B Jackson auction on the box. Interesting for sure, love seeing the wide variety of rare and wonderful cars, including vettes, like the '63 split window tanker owned by Micky Thompson, up there on the stage and I am always simply amazed at what these cars bring today in that auction. I know a guy who bought a beautiful Camaro at the Jackson auction for an outrageous sum (at least for me). I asked him about that and he said "its in the air, the emotion of the whole thing, you get caught up in it". Well, I guess so, I've never been so I'll take him at his word. I'll refer to my earlier post using VW buses hitting 100k as an example. So Cal was littered with these buses not long ago. Yesterday I saw a 21 window VW bus hit somewhere around 265K. Incredible! Man, if I could have just had a glimmer back when of what some of these cars would bring today... once again hindsight is always crystal clear. Take care!
With the exception of one or two, most are overpaying when there are 1 or 2 others interested in the same car. Not to look foolish in front of friends/ significant others, they one up each other until one of them has gone too far. Fun to watch but the '97 coupe with 65K miles that hammered for 22K plus fees is a perfect example of someone being caught up in the moment.
