Absolutely!!! As I mentioned before on another thread. VW 21 window bus, $265,000.00 at the Barrett auction a week or so ago!! In the big name auctions, anything is possible. Best wishes!

99' Nassau Blue convertible. 62,000 miles. Last June a neighbor keeps walking by asking if I want to sell. One day I said to him, how much will you give me? He says $21,500. I am a little taken back and not sure where he got that amount from. He definitely knows a lot about the car because he is always asking questions. Told him I would think about it.
Finally told him no I was going to keep the car. I looked for two years to find the right Vette and certainly do not want to start that process over again. I did not buy this car as an investment or to flip it, it means too much to me right now.

There's a good possibility that you are two doors down from ET
There are very few motor vehicles that would make a good investment, if only thinking about making money on it...
Have you been tracking the resale values of air cooled 911s these days? Even the less desirable 80's models are jumping HUGE.
Part of my lunch routine is catching up on Bring a Trailer and seeing what is going on there and some of the values of those cars are starting to take off.

$22,000 would take my car in a heartbeat.
Yep, air cooled 911's are hot right now. Same thing happened a couple of years ago for type E Jags. From $35k-$50k to $150k-$200K. Same with the Mercedes SL's, but not like the Porsches or Jags. Sometimes it's a crap shoot on what's the next biggest thing. If you are good at it and can guess right, cars are a very good investment. You just have to know when to get rid of them, too.

I think back to my teenage years, and the Boss 429 Mustangs, the COPO 427 Camaros, and the winged Charger Daytonas. They were a "tough sell" back then, as their sticker prices were 20-25% above the price of a garden variety Mustang, Camaro, or Charger. Dealers that thought they'd be "easy money" wound up DYING to move them, and many sat on their lots for close to a year.

That's a huge offer for a '99...for that you could turn around and buy an '01 or newer with less miles and still have money left over...
it's not about pretty, it's about rare. We are talking collectable here not necessarily eye candy
Bill aka ET
I rarely disagree with you ET, however, even though the color combination is exceedingly rare, there is little else to separate this car from any other low mileage 97. I like fairway green and have seen a few of them (I owned a DBGM for awhile), but the red interior just does nothing for me, and I suspect very few others, despite it's rarity.
