Although I've owned over seventy cars in my fifty-nine years, a Corvette has never been in the stable ... until now. Sold my Porsche 930 last Spring to a buyer in Poland and picked up a beautiful MB SL500 to tide me over until I could find something else (read, actual sports car). Since pretty much all of my car buddies are Corvette guys, one of whom has pestered me incessantly for years to buy a Corvette, I figured it was time to take the plunge.
Anyway, I finally got out and snapped a some shots late this afternoon (unfortunately, it was a little too late in the day for my old iPhone 5, whose resolution suffers greatly as the light fades) and figured I'd post a few of them here. Other than the chrome 20s the PO put on the rear (18s front) I really like the way this car looks. Gotta try to find a young guy with a C5 Z06 who likes chrome 20s and swap him for a stock set.
I look forward to learning and perhaps even contributing some over the months and years.
Thanks,
Norm
Congratulations on a truly beautiful car. I really like the chromes, but then that is what I have on mine. Just saying. Welcome.
It was pretty much local: about 4 miles south of Idaho Springs. Well 4 miles if you're the proverbial crow, that is - it's a tad farther by road.
Haven't been up Lookout yet, although I', almost certain to make the drive as I do with most of my cars. Problem is, that the presence of waaaaaay too many bicycles mutes the enjoyment factor noticeably. That and I prefer Golden Gate Canyon. It's less scenic, more interesting and fewer (although still too many) bicycles.
No factory exhaust. It was replaced at some point by a Borla system - headers-to-tailpipes. Nice sound!
I will have to take a look at Golden Gate Park. Very true about the bikes--and the hang gliders on Lariot. Try running it during a weekday if possible--less traffic of all types .
And try State Highway 67 just southwest out of Sedalia. About 20 tight turns through the forest for several miles of two lane road. Every time I have been there--there has been very light traffic and no bikes. Pavement is in very good condition--though narrow two lane without shoulders. Very entertaining in a C5--especially in a convertible .

Another Jeffco c5z! Welcome to the club! The forecast seems favorable for the next couple weeks. We should have a little time to drive our toys until the wet March/April. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone come the spring! You certainly found a gem there, congratulations!!

Perfect weather is forecast all week - including temps approaching 70 on Friday - until the weekend, when more rain and/or snow is expected. Figures that I was going to meet up with several other guys and drive to Purifoy in Fort Lupton for some sort of Corvette event. Unless the forecast changes, that won't happen.
Do you understand what the force of inertia is ? It's the force it takes to put a body in motion and to stop a body in motion. Those after market Chinese rims are MUCH heavier than the stock Z06 corvette rims thus the energy it takes to to put them in motion and stop them is much greater and robs you of acceleration and braking. You will think that you had modified the car when you put them on, that is why the Z06 engineers designed them that way, you won't be able to knock the smile off your face !
This is called rotating mass.
I apologize if you already knew this, that's my physics lesson of the day
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

Ssssshhhhhh!!! There's someone out there who would've traded their stock wheels for these chrome 20s ... right up until they read your post.
