Although I've owned over seventy cars in my fifty-nine years, a Corvette has never been in the stable ... until now. Sold my Porsche 930 last Spring to a buyer in Poland and picked up a beautiful MB SL500 to tide me over until I could find something else (read, actual sports car). Since pretty much all of my car buddies are Corvette guys, one of whom has pestered me incessantly for years to buy a Corvette, I figured it was time to take the plunge.
Anyway, I finally got out and snapped a some shots late this afternoon (unfortunately, it was a little too late in the day for my old iPhone 5, whose resolution suffers greatly as the light fades) and figured I'd post a few of them here. Other than the chrome 20s the PO put on the rear (18s front) I really like the way this car looks. Gotta try to find a young guy with a C5 Z06 who likes chrome 20s and swap him for a stock set.
I look forward to learning and perhaps even contributing some over the months and years.
Congratulations on your beautiful vette, and exactly the right color!! Wasn't all that long ago I sold off my long time owned 911 and picked up a C5 and I must say I enjoy it every bit as much. I'm sure you'll feel the same way! Good luck with your new baby, terrific looking ride!! Best wishes!

Reason: spelling
Take it up Lariat Loop--if there is no gravel .Very interesting in a C5!
It was pretty much local: about 4 miles south of Idaho Springs. Well 4 miles if you're the proverbial crow, that is - it's a tad farther by road.
Haven't been up Lookout yet, although I', almost certain to make the drive as I do with most of my cars. Problem is, that the presence of waaaaaay too many bicycles mutes the enjoyment factor noticeably. That and I prefer Golden Gate Canyon. It's less scenic, more interesting and fewer (although still too many) bicycles.
No factory exhaust. It was replaced at some point by a Borla system - headers-to-tailpipes. Nice sound!
